Why did the officials do that? ISU was out of time outs effectively hey gave ISU a time out. They did the same thing at the end of the Duke game.

They did that to get the time right but it is such an interruption of the game. I can understand when there are less than 5 seconds left but this absolutely has an effect on the game and the team with the ball should be the only one that decides if they want a break there by using a timeout.

The clock keeper allowed the clock to continue to run after the made basket. There were 21.4ish seconds left when the ball when through. I thought to myself how convenient to get the home team a free timeout they didn't have. Worst case scenario it steals a few seconds away from us trying to tie the game. The officials were right in stopping it but they may need to come up with a rule where the teams have to gather opposite their bench without coaches during those reviews.

I agree.

No coaching during reviews.

There was no intent by ISU to not stop the clock, it happens. No one should gain an edge in those situations, imo.

Because the clock operator didn't stop the clock on the made basket

I get why they did it but it effectively gives the other team a time out. The rule should allow the team with ball to request it or play on or even look at it after the next stoppage of play.

In the Duke v. Syracuse game it allowed Duke to set up pressure defense. It was horribly unfair to Syracuse. In our game, ISU didn't pressure so it didn't matter as much. I just don't recall seeing that in the past and saw twice last night.
