I welcome a change.

Sure it will kinda suck losing some old rivalries, but just because something has been one way for a long time doesn't mean it's the best.

We could have some GREAT rivalries in the SEC in all sports (sans wrestling) ... and if we stay Big-12 it's like a golden opportunity lost IMO.

Now is the time to GTFOODodge.

The SEC is too slimy. There's a win-at-any-cost feel there, and we've had enough troubles in that department over the years.

The Big 12's lost two teams, and Colorado's hardly irreplaceable. And NU is only good at football, and they've not been at their best there in some years.

If everyone else stays, I have no problem with remaining where we are. If not, all bets are off. The SEC and Pac 10 are huge unknowns. We might come to regret those moves. New kids on the block rarely wield much power.

There's been a good deal of viewing the grass on the other side as greener around these parts, seems to me.

I am going to be very upset if we remain in the Big 12.

I agree with Sky about the "greener grass" syndrome...but the TV deals we have been stuck with have annoyed me for years - and the simple fact remains that we need a larger potential viewing audience.

We get the biggest with the Squack-10, and the best rivalries (and still more audience) with the SEC. So IMO the SEC is the best choice.

I've been to alabama. The grass actually was greener there.

Since I have been in favor of a new conference for the past three years, I would be very, very disappointed if our administration was so short-sighted as to remain in what can only be viewed as a temporary situation, a marriage of inconvenience.

We were formed due to the breakup of one conference that was no longer viable. We now have five remaining members that no major conference really wants. I'm not even exactly sure why anyone wants OSU or Tech. The fact that the Big Ten has no interest in Missouri should be very revealing. The fact that not one of the moves has suggested the incorporation of Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Baylor, or Missouri should also be revealing.

We had the opportunity to arrange a marriage between the schools of the two largest states in the union, the financial windfall of the two largest populations in the nation. And, we would not do this? Very poor administrative decisions.

The Big X Conference. What sucks is that we will have to play KU twice every year again. Capel has yet to beat Kansas.

It makes absolutely NO SENSE except for Texas, and Baylor. NONE!

This is all just going to play out again after this contract, however long that may be, expires.

OU will end up regretting staying in the Big 12. This is only putting off the inevitable.

I agree. It all comes down to football and Texas and OU are DESPERATE to keep their easy road to the BCS championship game by staying in a pathetic conference. This is also why they're against a playoff - Why mess with the difficulties of winning a championship in a playoff, when it's much easier to beat Texas, win out and play a much more prepared team in the BCS champ game who kicks your ass again?

You'd think OU would realize - getting the easy path to the BCS title game means nothing if your conference is so weak it doesn't prepare you for your bowl game. We keep doing this over and over again..

I THINK GOING TO THE SEC OR PAC-10 WOULD HELP END THIS NIGHTMARE OF BIG GAME BOWL LOSSES.. No more paper tigers.

I agree 100%, the same happens to Kansas in basketball every year.
