Why is Grooms on bench, Cousins is....

Cousins is pledger without the offense.

This doesn't even make sense. Cousins is a pretty good ball handler. Cousins is a very good defensive player (I think he will be outstanding when he is a Senior). Cousins is quick and athletic. Cousins is not a great shooter.

Pledger is not a good defender. Pledger struggles handling the ball. Pledger is an excellent shooter. The guys are nothing like each other.

Well, TOTALLY disagree with you on the ball handler part. Cousins is Terrible with the rock while dribbling while passing and trying to get us into the right play. I do trust Lon BUT Lon was the first one in several games this year to come out and say he made bad decisions during the game. None of us are perfect in our jobs and neither is Lon. Just think when Cousins had 3 or 4 trips down the floor with either a turnover or bad shot he should have been sat down for a while. Lon has a guaranteed contract and is at his last stop, maybe he doesn't have the urgency some of us long suffering Sooner bball fans have. I'm sure he is invested in the next several years which might inadvertenly influence some of his decisions.

And the Fitz argument, the guys out there weren't getting ANYTHING done, why not put him in and see if his 15 foot jump shot is working. Couldn't of hurt. I think I and others on this board realize it isn't PEE WEE league, LOL. I think if you watched all the games this year you would have seen Fitz has a very nice 15 footer and you don't have to be athletic to shoot that. He also plays good down low D so you wouldn't have lost much at all there. Hingsight is 20-20 but I bet Lon wishes he would have tried other things too.

If it were me, Fitz would have played more than 3 minutes his last game as a senior. He's a 1000 pt scorer which few have done at OU. I also would have stuck with Grooms and Pledger more down the stretch.

Those freshmen may end up being great players, but in that game I would have let the seniors decide it. Cousins was a big problem. Pledger didnt shoot well, but theres no reason to have he, Fitz and Grooms on the bench watching freshmen end their career when the freshmen werent playing well.

After his initial 3 point shot Grooms did nothing. Unfortunately his late season surge didn't last and he and Pledger have to be largely responsible for the last three losses.

Cousins had a good first half and a poor second half but the offense was totally missing with Grooms running the point.

Osby was the only player who was on his game. Buddy was good early but he also didn't do that much the second half.

To win in the NCAA your good players have to play well. Only Osby met that standard. Was not enough.

Having said all that, I think the team exceeded most expectations. Some will not admit that but I well remember all of the gloomy posts in late December. Good base to build on for the future. Still to exceed what Billy and Sampson did we have to land a few top players. Too bad that when we landed one (Blake Griffin) we had our weakest coach in the last 30 years.

Fitzgerald could have built a mansion the size of Stoops with the bricks he has laid with that outside shot this year. It's been terrible outside of a couple of games. Every time he shot that shot I cringed.... Awful. He bricked many, many more than the few he made. That and his two inch vertical are why he got 3 mins against sdsu.. In years past he showed some decent post moves. But again, he is handicapped by his overall lack of athleticism..
