Would Buford Play

This is a question for anyone who has seen Buford play - live, specifically against our current players. If allowed to compete for playing time, is buford good enough to play right now and would he help the team?

If so, why not play him. We are a good team and will do fine this year, but perhaps, if we had one more good player we would win these close games against good teams and not lose them.

Just wondering. I trust Lon to make the right call on these matters.

Assuming I'm correct about what the NCAA approved, Buford has been cleared to practice not to play this year.

Correct Ada. He has to use this year as his redshirt year. The interesting question by the end of the year (too soon to tell now), is he good enough to help the team this year if he was eligible? Gary is probably the only regular poster that can tell us because he goes to some of the practices, but Dante hasn't been practicing yet.

I saw him practice with the team several times before he got the bad ruling. He would have started in a Cam type role if Thomas hadn't gotten his waiver. With Thomas he would have come off the bench as a wing. I think he will end up reminding us of a bigger better version of Cam.

A matchup problem for less-athletic bigs who I'd feel comfortable as the guy taking his man and creating his own shot? damn...wish we had him this year?
I thought Cam was really underappreciated at OU, especially last year

When I went to a practice earlier in the year he told me that hopefully he would get cleared and be able to play come January.
Maybe he just misunderstood the situation. It would be nice if we had the option to throw him out there, especially with Booker's injury and Walker's regression in recent games
