than last year. The talent level is SO much higher with the additions Coach has put in to play. So fast and athletic and bigger and faster. This has got my interest way up and I believe I will make several trips down to Norman to watch - unlike the last several years. Hope everyone jumps on the wagon and starts going again - I don't think OU will dissapoint anyone with talent and effort this year.

I also Love how Coach uses so many players. He has a history of doing that but it keeps everyone fresh - gives you more options - and keeps all the players happier I believe.

I think we may be able to get 20 wins and play in the big tourney again, where we belong!!!

I agree. It's obvious that when 3, and maybe eventually 4 returning starters are coming off the bench the team is much more talented and improved.

I was kind of hoping we were permanently rid of the fans who jump off and on the wagon. :):)

Winning will bring them out.........:OU-logo:

Looks better. But, how good is ULM?

Of course Syb, you know to temper your hopes/expectations. We are sure to improve on numbers/talent alone, but I always go cautiously optimistic into the season. We still have shortcomings in the paint, and the kids will struggle at times with inexperience, but it should be fun watching the kids grow up.

It is good to see people excited about OU Hoops again. Hopefully if/when we struggle, the casual fans won't turn on the players/coaches like they are prone to do.......

Absolutely ridiculously terrible. I think they went 3-27 in the Sun Belt last year, with the majority of their losses being blowouts against nobodies.

That said, it was still nice to see the guys do what they had to do, and it's clear that we are a better team than last year. How good? We'll see. I'll gladly take NIT at this point.

5 things struck out to me

1. Depth and athleticism at 1/2 guard/wing are vastly improved. 3 new guards have serious talent. Sub Woodard for Grooms next year. Wow.

2. Last year if Pledger had foul trouble or if his 3 game was off, OU was mostly screwed from long range. This year Hornbeak and Hield are a huge counter to those issues. Cousins 3 game is not quite as defined yet. In addition, Clark's mid range game looks to be much improved.

3. M'Baye shows similar signs of rust that Osby had. But the potential in his game/the ceiling is very high.

4. I thought Neal might get lost with all the new talent. His reps at the 3 have disappeared, but Kruger has wisely retasked him as a mobile 4. If Neal can provide some minutes at PF, then OU's front court depth should be fine. Neal's shooting range should allow him to play some high post effectively.

5. Rebounding is the big concern against teams with superior athletic length. Especially in any game where Osby and M'Baye have foul trouble. Was very encouraged by Fitz's board work today.

I don't care who the opposition was, we looked like a completely different team, for the better.
