We needed what Maddie did because we haven't seen much of it recently. She drove into the lane and ht a jumper. That's what Gioya did that was so valuable. She broke down the defense by penetrating for a jump shot--or a pass. Gioya has been trying other things, and she has been losing the ball while trying that recently. We didn't have anyone penetrating. Gabbi did it twice, but Gabbi is too short to make much of a habit of it. Maddie can do it and shoot over the defense. Two years ago, we saw that, and it wss what was exciting. She also had a floater that she shot about four or five feet from the basket.
