I agree with you, Syb. This game exemplifies this team's entire season.

This may be the second worst year since Sherri took over. Just mediocre play all year long.

We choked off a 14-point lead at home. Inexcusable.
 
We put Kaylon in the Nicole in together make a score Immediately then Sherri take one them on the next possession that it was about what 8 minutes to go if they both get tired with in 8 minutes then we need the strength and conditioning coach.

I liked it when Sherri put both in together but suddenly Kaylon was back on the bench. I felt that gave us an advantage inside with both big girls in the game.

I said after the Gonzana game we should start them both if they don't start together we should play them together more times than not. Missing free throws cannot only cost you a game but can cost you a championship (example Spurs Heat game 6 Spurs hit there free throws they win the nba Championship)
 
Is there a worse commentator than Brenda van Langdon, she makes my ears bleed, she is a total hack job.
 
On the radio, post-game, Sherri just seemed sad.

We lost several games this year when we had a lead with less than a minute left. As they said on the radio, if there is less than a five point spread, we don't seem to fare well. I think Sherri thought that Morgan would win all of the close games for us.
 
You can tell this is a hard year for Sherri & the fans, We just have to keep hoping for the best the rest of this year.
 
Giving this one away shocks me.

I think Sherri was extremely confident at the beginning of the year. She knew what she had in Nicole G, Ellenberg, Hook, and Campbell. She had very high hopes for Kay Kay, Gioya, and Kornet. They had experience and talent. Most of all, Morgan was her unshakable element. Morgan would control the floor at the end of the games. She even said she wished she had Morgan in the FIBA games because her points lost leads.

Right now, the only person that I think has improved is Griffin. I would rather have Gioya on the floor right now than Hook. Edwards is playing better right now. We are getting some good minutes out of Kornet. We are getting some bench help.

But, Kay Kay has had 0, 4, 3, 1, and, I think, 1 rebounds in the last five games. Aaryn is a bit hit and miss right now. Hook is missing free throws like she was a back-up center recently. Sharane does so many things well, but she keeps turning the ball over by shooting threes, and she can't seem to hit them this year.

With Kornet, Carter, and Edwards giving us some good minutes, we should be playing well right now. We really aren't playing badly. We lost to a good team. But, we should be winning right now.

How many games would we have won this year with one or two additional points?
 
I really like our girls, but this team just never figured it out. They just find a way to lose. Sometimes I feel they try too hard, sometimes they lose focus. Tonight, Sharane was spent when she missed the free throws.

It was a physical game and the Sooners never shied away. From the battle. The contact took its toll.

The last timeout after Edwards made the first free throw won the game for WVU. Her second free throw was so quick that it bounced hard off the backboard. She just tensed up and fired it up.
 
I think they gave great effort and the free throws would have won it for them, but mercy, they missed on a bunch of cripples right at the rim. If they hit most of those, they win it with ease.

Kay Kay had four free throws for four points and zero rebounds. She had no blocks, no steals, and two turnovers. She has more talent than that. She has been very ineffective in big games.

Sharane had seven rebounds. Unfortunately, she also had seven turnovers.

We only had nine assists on the night. WV had seven. This was a one-on-one game.
 
in close games it seems this team finds ways to lose instead of finding ways to win..jmo

KK might be more effective if she didn't start fouling at the scorers table. I'm still hoping she gets it and can put her talent to good use. Maybe paying attention to Nicole would be a good start. There has to be something going on as Sherri seems to give her zero wiggle room. She gets as fast of a hook as anyone.
