Good news for KU.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Freshman Xavier Henry is headed for the NBA draft and will be Kansas' first one-and-done player.

Kansas announced the decision Wednesday afternoon ahead of a news conference by Henry.

The 6-foot-6 guard was one of the most highly sought prospects in the country last year and left no doubt he hoped to spend only one year in college. He averaged 13.4 points and 4.4 rebounds for the team that finished 32-3 and was ranked No. 1 most of the year.

Two other starters gone from the Big 12 champions are senior guard Sherron Collins (FSY) and junior center Cole Aldrich, who announced last week that he would forgo his senior season.

Henry was the second-leading scorer for the Jayhawks.

This makes it more likely that Willie comes back. X is definitely ahead of Willie on most draft boards.

I leaked that about a week ago. His father was telling everyone at the AF camp two weeks ago.

He would be top 3 pick next year however I'm glad to see this loser leave

It's funny because even this video is proof of things that I ignored about Willie's personality. When I used to watch that video, all I focused on was how bad-ass that dunk was. Now I watch and and see him running around with that look like he's about to cry on this face, showing up the ref, after showing up the player on the ground.

I thought Willie could do no wrong his freshman year. Now I think he can do no right. I guess it's all about perspective. I'm sure I just loved him because he's a Sooner and we were winning. If he had played for OSU, Texas or Kansas the past 2 years I bet I would have really disliked him.

I don't think I would have liked Xavier no matter where he played.

LOL. Dude's been thought to be one and done since high school.
Don't go out on a limb there Dirty.

Agree. That one play has pretty much summed up WW to this date. An incredible basketball play followed by an immature and selfish play.
I hope WW comes back another year and becomes the player and man that he can. I think another year with Coach Capel would do him good.

That was a poor call by the refs and he had a right to be upset that they gave him a T. There was no other way for him to land but like that. It just looked bad. In my opinion he was not taunting after that dunk. It looked worse than it actually was.

It's amazing you could hear/see/read lips of what WW was saying despite his head being turned to away from the camera the entire time. LOL.
He didn't get the T for how he landed. He got it for whatever jawing he was doing afterwards. Notice how the ref came running in late and emphatically made the call. He could have just dunked, came down and ran down the court. As Capelfan52 said it was foreshadowing of what was to come.
Hopefully that junk changes next year and WW becomes the player he can be.

None of "that" ever stopped Sherron.

I will not miss Henry's smug little grin after every made basket.

If Sherron got a T doing that same thing you can bet I wouldn't be saying he didn't deserve it especially if his head was turned the entire way and I couldn't see what he was saying.
I have little patience with ANY player getting a T. There is no need for it.
Obviously some here feel differently. That's society today. me, Me, ME.

I will. I really liked X's game this year. He showed a lot of growth. I wish him well in the NBA.
Now I realize and understand why people dislike him here. He's said somethings he shouldn't have towards the state of Oklahomas schools.
I really think he's a good kid though. KU didn't have any problems and he always treated everyone with class and dignity, kept his nose clean and was a model student.

I'm not so sure the ref knew Willie was jawing. I think the ref T'd him up for the emphatic pose Willie had after the dunk.

I'm not saying the ref DID see Willie jawing, but no one knows for sure. I didn't notice Willie was jawing in the first place until you mentioned it and I went back and watched and it looked like his lips were in fact saying something. But I don't think it was conclusively noticeable that he was jawing; the ref could have just T'd him up for sticking his arms up.

It was showboating, but I don't think him raising his arms up warranted a tech. Now if he was jawing as well and the ref heard what he was saying, then that's a different story.

Sherron got a T in an AAU game for standing over a player who fell after he made a 3 over him.

It's AAU.

Willie never got a T in a real game.

X cried like a little girl during the press conf. It was weird, not sure why he is that sad?

Could it be that he is tired of his dad running his life? Maybe he liked college life. No information at all, just idle speculation.
