Xavier Henry going pro

Dont think Henry would ever be a top 3 pick, not athletic enough.

X cried like a little girl during the press conf. It was weird, not sure why he is that sad?

He got all choked up when talking about his teammates and the fans. I think he really, really loved it at KU. Took him 3 1/2 minutes in to say he was going to the NBA. I think he's a big kid at heart....would have been nice if he stayed a kid just a little bit longer.

I agree. He's not quick enough off the bounce and laterally. I think he's 10-20 range. From a his standpoint draft status wise I think he's best to go now. He'll get drafted higher on potential because he's just a freshmen. Another year or two and the scouts would start picking apart his game unless he just blew up bigger and better. Happens all the time. Look at Aldrich..they were saying 5th last year and I bet he goes 10th-15th this year.

Agree...smart move by Xavier.

Could it be that he is tired of his dad running his life? Maybe he liked college life. No information at all, just idle speculation.

everyone knew he was a one and done. It was just a little creepy to listen to, it really sound real, just kind of akward.

Xavier played soft all year. He is not ready for the NBA. When I saw KU play, he seemed to be an appendage rather than an integral part of the team. Sure he has talen but KU is not gonna drop off the face of the earth cause this young man bolts for the league......

Not true. Xavier's defense and rebounding really improved over the course of the year. Best thing for the young man was his mid year shooting slump. Forced him to pick up his game in other area's and he did. He had the 2nd best freshmen campaign in the history of KU hoops. He had a very good year.

That being said rather he's "ready" for the NBA or not is a moot point. The NBA drafts on POTENTIAL. The more years you spend in college the less POTENTIAL the NBA scouts deem you have. Sorry but that's how it works.
Cole Aldrich hurt his draft stock by coming back. Willie Warren really hurt his draft stock by coming back a year. People act like by coming back it helps you....in lots of cases it hurts you. My philosophy is you go when you are hot. Julian Wright is a prime example. He went after his sophomore year because it was a weaker class and his "potential" and stock was up. If he stays 4 years there is no way he's a lottery pick. He did the smart thing.
Xavier is doing the smart thing as well.

If you had a pick in the NBA draft, say around 15 or so, and you have to pick between Xavier Henry and James Anderson. WHO DO YOU PICK?!?:ed

James Anderson. I don't think Anderson will be around at 15 though.
