Kansas played very well.

We didn't play our best.

Most of the calls went KUs way in the last 3 or 4 minutes of the game.

This team started out the season playing at a very high level. It's almost unheard of for a team to sustain that level of play for the entire season.

The only thing I know for sure is that they will continue to work hard to get back to that level of play. You can't ask for much more than that.

Guys, I have a question, please don't jump on me like a junk yard dog because I ask. Yesterday it seemed to me that Ryan went into a shell when it came to shooting the ball. He had a number of open shots but didn't or wouldn't take them, it was like playing 5 on 4. Without RS going to the basket or even trying to, it puts a lot of pressure on the outside guys. Now I don't think its just yesterdays game, it seems like the past three or four games he just wont shot.

He isn't a very good shooter, and he's been in a slump. I don't want our PF shooting a bunch of threes when a) he is already 0-3 on the day from behind the line, and b) he is 5 for his last 28 from three over the last 10 games. That is nearly half the season so far, and in those games he is shooting 18% from three. I don't want him taking more than a couple of those a game, and if he is cold, he needs to stop. Yes, I realize that creates some issues with spacing, but they are daring him to take them anyways, so continuing to take and miss them doesn't help with the spacing. It just wastes possessions.

I agree with you, but it's even worse when Lattin is in the game. They play us 5 on 3. Spangler is good rolling to the basket, but he isn't a very good outside shooter. If we run our offense, then someone like Woodard or Cousins can get an open look. Even though he has been in a shooting slump, too, I would rather Woodard shoots the outside shot than Spangler.

Agreed.

Lon has to find a way to keep Spangler and Lattin involved enough, and enough of a threat on offense, that it doesn't allow the other team to simply play 3 on 5. Lattin has to learn to be stronger with the ball inside. Too many instances of getting the ball knocked away, and not getting it up on the rim, even when he is fouled. It's no easy task, and I'm sure Lon is working on it, but there is only so much you can do when your bigs aren't that talented.

I agree. He needs to work on his shot and keep his confidence. In our offense we need him to shoot when he is open. We are in trouble if we is not looking to score. He had several wide open looks and we turned it over a few times after he passed on them.
