There was doom and gloom by a number of posters on here after the loss to Okie State in the Big 12 tourney. That team ended up going to the Elite 8 and I would argue was the 2nd best team in the tourney. This team can do the same and if they catch the right draw go farther.

That year still gets me. A couple more wins and a different bracket and that team cruises into the FF and possibly the championship game. Still a lot of fun watching Crock annihilate Syracuse that year. :dance005:

It's all about matchups and how the bracket develops thru the tournament. I can remember years we thought we had a bad bracket but it imploded and if we could have won game 1 or 2, then we probably walk to the Final 4. The big thing is we don't want to play something like Syracuse in NY or Kentucky in Lexington or something really bad like that (Duke in Charlotte).

In 09 we had some good matchups until NC. Had they been in a different bracket we advance. Had we been in the Louisville bracket that year we advance as that bracket totally imploded.

If you recall, some on here were predicting a loss to Michigan and even more said OU didn't match up with Cuse. This team will be a tough out. I expect if they do lose it will be a close game. I would be shocked to see OU get blown out.

You are right but both games ended up being blowouts in our favor. In the end, they were good matchups for us to win. What people on here think, including me, before the game is played really has no bearing. :lon
