2017 Pg was offered.

Plays for API in Texas. Prime prep old team, or at least most of it.

We won't wait forever on Trae, staff knows 2017 PG is a big piece for that class.

I think one of Capel's biggest problems in recruiting was putting all his eggs in one basket. He was all in on several major talents every year and when they didn't come he was stack scrambling for guys. I'm glad Lon always seems to have a great backup plan...even if we don't know what it is he always comes through. Gotta love that.

Duval is #1 pg in the country. So he can play!

As you can expect, all the blue-blood programs are on him: Duke, Arizona, KU, etc.

He's the kind of player where you would take both him and Trae if they want to commit. He's playing prep school in Texas, but he's from Wilmington Delaware. OU has to be a long-shot for him, but might as well jump in there with an offer.

I would be happy with Duval and/or Trae.

The way I would look at this is Trevon spending a winter in Texas is awesome. He just learned that weather doesn't have to be like Delaware. I think that gives us a good chance to land him. Much better than had he stayed and played high school ball at home. All the sunshine he is going to experience this winter is our best recruiting tool.

I'm always amused by fans touting the weather in Oklahoma and Texas as positives. I've never lived there, but Delaware's in the mid-Atlantic and generally doesn't have that hard a winter (NYC doesn't and it's well north of Delaware), and many, many people (me among them) feel that five or six months of temps in the 90s and higher is something to be avoided, not celebrated.

I'll take Delaware's (or NYC's) winters over Oklahoma and Texas's brutal summers every time.

Sunshine is a major antidepressant.

Plus as a student, he likely isn't spending June, July and August in this region.

I don't know about Delaware's winters but Texas's summer suck.

Just about every place has sunshine -- I would guess Delaware gets plenty. But not everywhere does it threaten to burn a hole right through you or melt you into a puddle.

I guessing weather is very low on a long list of considerations for Duval (if it's on the list at all).

I mistyped what I was saying. I didn't mean that Duval was a "backup plan" per se.....but that Capel went pretty much after one guy all the way through the process and if that person didn't sign he was stuck holding the bag.

Duval is definitely the kind of guy you take ALONG WITH Young......and it is great we can get the ear of the best players in America right now.....shows how far along we have come under Lon

It is a fact the US population is moving south and west. The reason is weather. Before AC existed it was far better to live in cooler climates and heat in the winter. Now most people prefer to live in warmer climates and cool in the summer. We simply have nicer winters. It is not an insult.

I'm not insulted, I just think you (and many other posters) drastically overestimate the appeal of Oklahoma's weather. You'll not find that many people who find 100+ degree temps desirable, and people in the parts of the country where they don't often occur are downright freaked out by the idea of tornadoes.

I occasionally muse about moving back to OKC, and believe me, the weather (not tornadoes, but the heat) is one big reason I've never done so.

Does Duval have any connections with OU? Friends, former teammates, family?

I watched Duval dominate Trae. He's just physically better. I think Trae is a better fit for OU though. Duval is a money kid we will never get. He is under armour so I bet Maryland will be a player.

Grew up in the snow of Lincoln, NE. Brownsville is too far north.

There is this thing called air conditioning. You don't have to shovel sunshine, and I never was numb from the sun.
