2021 Recruiting

I've seen that some of the OU football recruits are friends with Collins. Clayton Smith for one...

It can't hurt that we have Kellen Sampson in our corner too. Seems like there's a strong family feel that could lead him to Norman. Fingers crossed!

I know Kellen wants a job at OU. At some point it will happen id guess. I know hes team griffin and all things Oklahoma... but he wants a college job.

I have a problem with that. It hurt us with Trey.
 
I want Collins pretty bad, just like everyone else. OU seems to set up perfectly for him. Coming in as an athletic stretch 4 working on his outside game. Perfect Manek replacement. I have no inside info, but I just don't have a great feeling about him. Seems like he would have pulled the trigger already once Lucas left Texas, if he really wanted to come. Seems like he and T Alexander are looking for excuses not to come to OU. I hope I am dead wrong!

Collins just got his UK offer. Have to think about that no matter who you love. Id bet a lot of money trey isnt coming. but who knows.

Lucas is at UK why wouldnt he think about them with Lucas there?

You and others have beaten the stay close to home drum and how important that is to he and his family. Also the fact that it should appeal to his ego that he is a plan B or C for them. Other than that, I agree he should be very interested in them. I just think OU wants him really bad, is by far closest to home, and is wanting to showcase his talents in a way Kentucky can't. I don't think OU as a program is too far below UK to not to be able to overcome some of these things. That being said, to each his own.

Sounds like we are kind of agreeing. If I were him i'd have committed to OU by now when you lay everything out on the table. He hasn't, hence my point...
 
I can think of a lot of reasons why Thompson should have picked OU over KU. Can't say the same thing about Collins picking OU over UK. Lon has not shown much ability to develop bigs.

Dootlittle got a lot better. Manek got a lot better but those guys are just 1/2nd team all big 12

Manek's development is probably #2 among bigs under Lon, and that's criminal considering he's put up nearly identical numbers every year.

The biggest gift Capel gave us is undoubtedly a second year of Blake. His second biggest gift may have been letting Spangler train under Mark Few for a year. Thomas came prepackaged as well.

Few is a great coach. His track record of developing bigs is light-years ahead of Lon's. Not sure how anybody could argue otherwise.
 
5 men haven’t improved much, the 4s have all made huge leaps.

But he had for 1 year. He was here 4. To give all the credit to few.... is comical.
