He's a freshman that averaged 7 ppg in 12 minutes while shooting 40+% from three.

I think it is too early to say one way or the other but the offensive potential is so high...especially with his size

If he transferred to Houston and learned some defense under Kelvin, I have no doubt he would be an NBA player.

I like Atak. He is not unatheletic, so it boils down to will he be able to learn and become serviceable on defense. His length helps him recover on mistakes somewhat. He didn't look horrible at times, and then he looked like he had no idea what was going on other times, like a deer stuck in headlights.

Atak is athletic. He is also at least 6'9, and has a 7 foot plus wing span. He is, in my humble opinion, the best 3 point shooter in the NCAA. IF Moser doesn't want him, then I change my mind -- fire Moser. If Atak enters the portal every elite program in the Country will be beating down his door trying to recruit him. His problem is he is just young and needs to develop. Moser was right to redshirt him last year. It might not be for another year or two, but he will ultimately be an impact player in college and in the NBA. The only question is whether it will be at OU or another school. Kid's with his unique length and shooting touch come along so very rarely. I hope we don't lose him. I will be shocked if pretty big money is not thrown at him by a lot of schools.

Probably G League then return to Nate Oats and play against Porter Moser and OU in 2028 and drop 30 on 10-12 from deep

Probably right....and how would Moser justify paying a large sum to keep him when he didn't play him more than 15 minutes a game if that

I’m not disagreeing but the coach has to play him. Atak had a good game and then we didn’t see him for several games. What is that about? And I don’t buy the “can’t play defense” excuse because none of our guys played defense for most of the year.

Defense is quite literally the reason, whether you buy it or not. He was a cone. It can be improved though, and he should be kept if possible.
