Is the difference between the bubble and a conference championship + top 4 seed in the NCAA tourney.

2 points against SFA @ home
1 point @ UT in regulation
1 point @ OSU in regulation
3 points against KSU @ home

That would put our record at 24-5 (14-3) and tied with KU for the conference title. Even if we win @OSU and @UT, we're a top 20 team right now playing for seeding.

We've had a truly amazing season but were really close to something very special.

There's always going to be some "what ifs", but this team has still exceeded my expectations. I do know that we are one of those teams that you fear playing. We have the potential to beat just about anyone on a given night.

Boomer, if Buddy can come back and put some pressure on the ball-handlers out front, we're going to be a really tough out for anyone. The way we're playing we can score with anyone...just got to shore up the D.

we are NOT on the bubble

If the season ended today, I'd agree.

You honestly going to tell me you wouldn't be sweating come Selection Sunday if we lose to TCU and ISU? I think we'd still have a chance to make it, but that would put us on the definition of what the bubble is.

OU has been a lock since they got to 10 wins. There is scant historical precedent for a winning conference record and our RPI and strength of schedule not to get in.

There will probably be at large teams with RPI's in the 60's get in. All this chicken little the sky could fall stuff is a head scratcher.

If we do the what if thing, I sure would love another shot at Arkansas.

No, we are in the tournament regardless barring 20 point losses to Iowa St. and TCU, and even then we still might get in one of the play-in games

We are currently playing for a seed, we are in.

Too funny wt!! Last week when I said we need 12 conference wins you said I had lost my mind.

It doesn't work this way. If we're on the bubble we'll be a 13 seed.

Depends on the makeup of those wins. Losing to TCU would be bad. A lot worse than losing to ISU, or even WVU.

And I'm not saying 11 doesn't get us in, I'm saying it puts us on the bubble.

If OU had gotten above 7 points and KU had not benefitted from a really bad call against ISU, OU would be conference champs.

Let's just win Saturday and it won't matter. My main point of 12 was to feel like its a lock to get in.

I like that plan better than relying on a committee to decide our fate.

While I "think" we might be okay with a loss on Saturday, I will feel much better if finish the regular season with a win. UT is the only bad loss on our resume right now. If the Whorns are thought to be a "bad loss," what do you call a defeat at the hands of a last place Big 12 team with a 10-20 record and only one conference win all season?

IMO, losing to TCU could be devastating. Even if it didn't keep us out of the dance, it would almost certainly hurt our seeding.

This team is dancing, period. Its so nice to be playing well this time of year, while getting healthy and with depth. I thought they had a real chance to dance at the beginning of conference but I didn't foresee Sam elevating into such a force(anybody call that shot mid season?). Those 7 points would have been very sweet but playing really well in the dance or poorly will make those 7 seem trivial.

I've actually been thinking about this for several weeks now... It really is amazing how razor thin this margin is for us to possibly looking at a 2 or 3 seed in the NCAA tournament.

I echo other's sentiments that I am still ridiculously happy already with how this year has been, but all considered it's just amazing how great this team has played this whole year... even with the handful of pretty deeply frustrating parts throughout the season.

And, I'm left with the thought that if this team keeps playing great defense and doesn't get lost in the experience, we really could make a nice post season run depending on our draw...

I would like to know that once we beat TCU on Saturday, will all of the "chicken littles" finally admit we are a lock?

The truth is, we are a lock right now according to many prognosticators:
http://bracketproject.50webs.com/matrix.htm

Even from a conservative angle, this is probably what can be expected (worst case scenario to best):
lose to TCU and ISU - #11 seed
beat TCU, lose to ISU - #9 seed
beat TCU and ISU, lose in the Big 12 semis - #8 seed
Win out to the conf. tournament finals - #7 seed
Win out - #6-#7 seed.

I realize it's been several years since we've been here, but we all need to relax....we are in.
