This season, the Sooners have held five teams under 30 first-half points, something they didn't accomplish a single time last season.

And entering the game today, our schedule strength was #2 in the country.

Another key stat in this game. OU finished with a +19 (52-33) in rebounding. CJ led the way with 13 boards.

Would like to see the +\- for our reserves today

They had a hell of a run in the 2nd half!

Not bad for a game without our starting center

No way I expected OU to totally dominate WSU in nearly every category with Muni not available. A 19 rebound differential? Impressive!

WSU's style of play under Marshall is a half-court, control the tempo type of game. Once they get behind against teams, they are in trouble....they simply don't have the offensive firepower to score against good defensive teams.

But like you said, we more than controlled the glass. And we can sure as hell improve on our turnovers....we had 18 today....yuck.

Have you noticed that they won't get off the floor by themselves (unless it is a transition thing)? I wonder if this was at the direction of coaching. If so that seems to be a good method to promote the team because they sure seem to like each other a lot more this season. Even saw Doolittle chumming it up with Freeman on the bench - something we darn sure didnt see last year. Good for them!

They held Wichita State to a ridiculously low 0.66 points per possession, the 7th time they've done that in 9 games. They did it only 7 times all of last season.

Easily the worst number for WSU in Marshall's tenure.

Is it? Wow! This team's defense isn't just a lot better than last year's. At this point, it doesn't even make sense (though I did it) to compare this year's holla at year's defense. This defense is legitimately 1 of the best in the country. If they keep playing defense like this, they can honestly beat anyone.
