A different take on why Capel should stay.

Exactly. Don't feel bad for Joe unless he keeps Capel for 2 more years as I am hearing.

God forbid that an athletic director not be as fickle as message board posters.

That's not an argument for, or against Capel. I trust Joe's reasoning a lot more than mine, or yours. So, whatever he does I'll roll with. He has all the information at his disposal to make the right call.

Don't feel bad for Joe. He ran the search and hired Capel. It turns out that it was not a good hire. We all make mistakes, so admit it, fire him and try to do better next time.

Not only that he gave him a huge raise and an extension way too soon.

If Capel can bring in Guerrero and a couple others, than keeping Capel can only help this team. Firing Capel this year would be a terrible decision. If Capel can turn it around next season than keeping him was for the best. And if he can't..keeping him this year is still for the best...b/c the following year will be easy for a new coach to come in and win right away. That team will only lose Washington and Thompson and return everyone else.

Again you are either related to Capel or not a OU fan. This is a business and no business owner or board of directors would keep this CEO one day after the season. We are the worst program in the 12 today and losing money. Attendance and revenue is at a all time low. Winning is at a all time low the last 2 years.

You are clearly not in the business world or make decisions regarding staff performance or the botton line. If OU doesn't make a change right after the season it will speak volumes on how this current OU admin feels about OU basketball. I am not going to support this product.
