They have started a thread on the men's board that I thought would be fun to start here. Beginning with 2002 to the current time, who would you pick as your starting 5 on an all-star team? If you would like to show 5 reserves, that would be good too.

Center: Courtney Paris
Forward: Jo Mcfarland
Wing: Hand
off Guard: Aaryn
Point Guard: D-rob

Here is my take:

C- Courtney Paris
F- Caton Hill
SF- LaNeishea Caufield
SG- Aaryn Ellenberg
PG- DRob

Caufield probably doesn't fit real well at SF but I've got to put her on the roster somewhere as she could do so many things well. It's really hard to leave off players like Dales, Hand, Rush, etc but those would be great players to bring in off the bench and not lose anything talent wise.

C- CP
F- Amanda T
3- Dales
2- Ellenburg
1- Drob

Hand, Abi, JoMac, Caulfield, Leah Rush

5-courtney paris
4-caton hill
3-whitney hand
2-dionnah jackson
1-stacey dales

P-Courtney P
F-Caton Hill
SF-Whitney Hand
SG-Aaryn Ellenburg
PG-Danielle Robinson

Bench-Dionnah Jackson, Leah Rush, Stacey Dales, Joanna McFarland, LaNeishea Caufield, and Erin Higgins.

I have to put six down, because I have to include the "Mad Bomber" Higgins.

1 - Danielle Robinson
2 - Aaryn Ellenberg
3 - Stacey Dales
4 - Caton Hill
5 - Courtney Paris

2nd team
Dionnah Jackson
LaNeisha Caufield
Whitney Hand
Amanda Thompson
Leah Rush

P-Courtney P
F-Caton Hill
SF-Whitney Hand
SG-Aaryn Ellenburg
PG-Danielle Robinson

Bench-Dionnah Jackson, Leah Rush, Stacey Dales, Joanna McFarland, LaNeishea Caufield, and Erin Higgins.

Lots of very good posts so far and hope others keep the ball rolling!

Just want to add that we have a couple of girls who just might make the first or second teams before they leave OU. Possibilities are Sharane Campbell, Maddie Manning, and Peyton Little. Can't rule out Kornet either. Not saying they will but just saying it depends on how they continue to develop.

1 - Danielle Robinson
2 - Aaryn Ellenberg
3 - Stacey Dales
4 - Caton Hill
5 - Courtney Paris

2nd team
Dionnah Jackson
LaNeisha Caufield
Whitney Hand
Amanda Thompson
Leah Rush

How about getting us up to fifteen players!

Maria
Rossland
JoJo
Higgins
Phylesha

How about that for the end of our bench?

You can't leave Stacey off the first team, OU's first two time consensus first team All-American.

So so far no one even has Ashley on their second team?

Good thread Norm. Ashley was one of the numerous ball players that I gave some thought to. It is highly possible that my list is skewed by my personal biases.
There was a thread a while back asking folks to explain the meaning of their handle or poster name and I thought that was a fun thread. This one is as well. Regardless of my post count i read this board every day.
Anyway, I wanted to put Maddie on this list but it is certainly to early to say that considering the wonderful players that have come through Sherri's program.

I want a post player who can grab 10-15 rebounds, play in the motion offense, and step out for the three. Joanna McFarland.
I want a four who can grab 8 rebounds, run in transition, and step out for the three. Caton Hill.
I want a three who can run the court and run the offense as point forward. Stacy Dales.
I want a two who can knock down the three. Ellenberg.
I want a point guard who can break down the defense, run, and guard the point. DRob.

I am likely the only poster to demote CP. To me, she never developed an offensive game beyond 5 ft. To run the offense through her was a mistake, leaving everyone else standing around. Higgins became a "decoy." Welch got benched.

If I could pick one player around whom to build a team, it would still be Stacy Dales. It is worth noting that she and DRob are the only two SC players to really make it in the WNBA.

I gave a lot of thought to Ashley. I guess my only problem was, it took her a while to get into really good condition and excel. Once she did so, she was a very good player.

I have to admit, one of my all-time favorite players is Leah Rush. That girl was tough. She also had the best turn-around-fade-away jump shot of anyone I've seen in an OU uniform. But, her stats were not in the area of some others so, reluctantly, I left her off my first team.

The closest battle I had with myself was between Caufield and Dales. I loved Stacey. She was the 3rd player picked in the first round of the draft in 2002 and she went on to become a WNBA all-star. That's tough to beat! But, a little girl from Ada, OK won me over. Maybe it's because she's an Okie.

This page show several of the records at OU and you will likely see most of the girls being mentioned.

I have been thinkiing a lot about this and I still haven't decided beyond Courtney and D-Rob.

After those 2 there are a bunch of really deserving Sooner Stars. Do we go by starters, stats, heart, being a team player?

It is very hard to choose.

It isn't easy! I didn't have any trouble going with Courtney, DRob, and Aaryn. After that it was tough.

I'm not one to pick a team by 1-5. As long as you have someone that can handle the ball you're okay. Remember Wooden's first NC team didn't have anyone over 6'4".

I think any team has to have Drob and Whitney. I'm a big Caton Hill fan(Her picture used to be my avatar and people were always PM'ing asking me out thinking I was her). If you want a scorer why not Rush or Higgins? Jackson, Caufield, and Thompson all deserve some consideration. Vegas needs to be somewhere but, as I've stated elsewhere, when she's not hitting she can be brutal. I know everyone will automatically pencil in CP but, as someone else said, she had her downside too. And no one has mentioned her but can you pick any better toughness and energy to come off the bench than Carly?

I like this thread because everyone has their own views and takes. It's much more thought provoking than saying Magic, Micheal, Kareem, Wilt, etc...
