Am I the only one?

heck i like capel, but our program has gone down hill from when he took over 5 yrs ago, therefore i think JOE C. should make a change after this yr

You cant be the worst team in the Big 12 at OU 5 years in. Sorry, you just can't. You also can't win 13 games one year and be even worse the next at OU.

Never have liked him since the first year. The sooner---- he is gone the better --why wait till the end of this year? Get it over with. It can't get worse.

also i dont think he can get us back to where tubbs and kelvin had us

I think he a great guy. I like him as a person.

I'll echo the thoughts of the previous posters. Jeff Capel seems like a very nice guy who knows quite a bit about basketball. However, he should no longer be the head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners.

That still liked Capel?

I still like him, too. However, I'm not blind to the fact that the team is not prepared to play every other game, and this trend needs to stop NOW. I actually stopped watching the UVA game yesterday once they went up by 20 with about 8 minutes or so left in the game. It takes a lot for me to become so disgusted that I'll just turn off an OU game with 8 minutes left. The only reason I stuck around until the end today was because the game was still in doubt, though I was equally disgusted.

I won't lie. If I keep turning off games because the players don't want to compete, I won't like Coach Capel (as a coach) much longer.

I like Capel. I don't know him personally, but from what I've heard and what I see I think he's a good man. I also think he's really passionate about the game and about coaching, and he's a tireless worker on the recruiting trail. That being said, it's just not working out for him here.

I just think he's in over his head, fighting three levels above his weight class. He's simply not ready for this level of a job

This is very similar to my feelings on Jeff, all signs point to him being a good guy. He cares about the program and works hard but I am just afraid that he is in over his head as a coach.

It's really bad. The 1st 2 tourney ganes OU was so slow coming off the block and couldn't catch up. Don't the coaches have the responsibilty to have the team ready to play.
One more game like VA or Chaminade, can him on the spot.

This is well said.

That has nothing to do with liking or not liking Coach Capel. It has everything to do with the health of the Basketball Program. I'm sure Coach is a very nice man.

Good guy. Hard worker. Good coach who made a very bad mistake in signing TMG who ruined a team which had two other immature players. This has resulted in signing some second level players that I think he thought he could coach up. Doesn't look like it at this point. Unless he can coach his way out this year I'm afraid he wont be able to recruit enough talent very quickly and OU will have lost whatever advantage Sampson had gained for us which was considerably more than he is given credit for.

TMG was far from being the one who "ruined a team". He had plenty of help. His first name starts with a W and his last name ends with III.

lots of people around the program don't agree with you at all
