Another juco may have visited this weekend

Some stuff on twitter that Shavon Coleman visited this weekend. He's a 6-6 or 6-7 small forward type from a juco in Texas. I think Capel tried to get him to visit when he came out of high school. Kid's originally from Louisiana.

I think this is also one of the guys abd promoted in his juco recruiting newsletter that Kruger should sign, along with the other juco guard who had the felony conviction (Marshall Henderson).

Anyway, good to see Lon is also a subscriber to abd's service and using it appropriately.

Interesting. After rummaging through his Scout and Rivals profiles, both have stories on him from earlier this week mentioning that he would be here this weekend, so that sounds legit.

The articles said he visited LSU. Sounds like they'll be tough to beat, but OU did get a shot after he visited there.

He's from Howard Junior College. Same school that produced Marquette's Jae Crowder.

Looks like he was averaging 14.5 points, 6.4 boards and 1.7 steals a game. Shot 38 percent from 3-point range (33-88). Click here for the rest of his stats.

Hmmm....

“Oklahoma was my school coming out of high school,” Coleman said. “I wanted to go there but things have changed.

And then there's this.....

“Putting the ball on the floor and going to the cup is a big part of the game for me,” he said. “I’m best when I’m getting fouled because I think that frustrates the defense. But I’ve also worked hard at shooting the 3 because I know at the next level defenses are going to be too good to just do the same thing over and over.”

Coleman appears to be the real deal, a juco player who was good enough coming out of high school (top 100) to compete at the D-1 level. He's a big wing who can knock down the three and score off the dribble. That is exactly the kind of player we need next year!

Then I took him off when it appeared he was all but committed to LSU.
He may indeed end up at OU but it seems doubtful.

With his 3 point shooting I could see him potentially make Cam Clark come off the bench. If he could and OU's 7 deep had Cam and Fitzgerald coming off he bench, that is a very solid basketball team.
