Why not? Since it's all charity anyway. Why don't we just give the remaining scholarships to walkons and see how we do?

Capel was giving scholarships to walkons because he couldn't find any decent players to take the scholarships.

We can't win if we run the program like a charity. Stoops isn't handing multiple scholarships to walkons. Heck, he has a walkon tight end in Ratterree who plays more than the scholarship guys and he just got a scholarship.

You only do it, if you don't fill the scholarship, otherwise. Nothing wrong with rewarding a walkon senior a scholarship, if it is unused.

If you use it for a walkon, and you have a late transfer you are screwed.

Or, if you find a kid who wants to leave JUCO (and is qualified) you are also screwed because you don't have an open slot.

But I think you have to keep one open in case someone wants to transfer in.

but say in august we still have 2 scholarships left, then can Big Puma and TJ, who are both going to be Srs. at that point in time get them? If by August we haven't used them, they wont get filled and since they are both Sr.s they will be open for the next recruiting class either way

What if someone wants to transfer in at semester? Can OU pull one of their scholarship for the spring semester?

if they transfer in they cant play til spring of the next year. In that case i would still let my 2 srs keep the scholarship. but thats just me

I really dont care, I have never been a big fan on mid season transfers. Again this is all my opinion. There is a reason why non of us get paid millions to run the program
