Austin Meyer moves to Texas...

I must've watched the wrong game. I saw NN and Mustang play in regionals last year and Long shut Trae Young down. Wouldn't let him even catch the ball and when Yound did he couldn't get any space.

That's impressive. I have seen him play multiple times and watched him not be able to move his feet. I would like to see if he could do it this year without Meier in the back to keep people from driving.

They'll be one of about 3 or 4 teams that could win it just like last year. Who'd have thought PCW would get upset? If Kejuan Frazier isn't the guard you heard was transferring, they COULD be a little better. They will be a little thinner, but they have a replacement for just about everyone who left besides Meyer and, as I said, there's rumor of a 6'10" transfer.

It is Not Frazier I know which one he is.

Better I don't see it but it is all opinion so you could very well be true.

Frazier had a great summer. He's a highly intelligent kid that shoots it about as good as Johnson.

I don't think Austin was as good as everyone billed him up to be. I thought a lot of times he was a product of being the tallest kid on the floor with above average athletic ability. But I didn't think he was a great HS player, but very good. The two games i covered last year I thought Mustang operated better with Hightower on the floor. Either way its a pretty big loss for Mustang.

Their guards never threw Meyer the ball so it was hard to tell if he had any offensive moves. Without Meyer Mustang will get beat backdoor all the time with their over play. I saw them lose to a bad Bixby team three years ago and Long was beat all night. It didn't help that his dad had no idea what was going on. After every timeout, Bixby ran the same back door play and Long never figured it out. Where will he coach next year when his kid graduates? Mustang's jv didn't look anything like the varsity last year and got beat 30 by Yukon jv.

Those kids were all freshmen 3 years ago.

Additionally, that team lost Johnson early in the season and Curtis was ineligible. Apples and oranges

Yes they were 9th graders getting beat by a bad Bixby team that had a losing record. Long, of course, made no adjustments what a surprise. It is much easier to coach and win when you have superior players like he did last year. not this year unless some more recruits come in.

BTW, I was actually wrong. Curtis wasn't even on the team. Chandler Garrett had quit about 2 weeks before the playoffs, their junior PF had been out injured all year AND they were freshmen.

Leroy, you're either like 12 years old or have been the brunt of some of Terry's team's beatdowns. Pretty childish either way.

Wrong on both counts. OKC paper picked Mustang to win the regional and they were out the first game. He never makes any coaching changes during games, that Bixby team had more loses than wins and was a bad team. The next year, the first round of state they played each other and Bixby scored on the same backdoor play numerous times. Nice scouting and watching last year's film.

Athletes First 17u team is coached by Mustang head coach Terry Long, on this team was 3 Mustang players Austin, Jakolby and Curtis. The rules state that as a high school coach who coaches a summer team he can only have 2 players from his high school team. This means someone was left out or rotate 2 players suiting up between the 3 players. Austin ended up not playing and his dad was not happy.

Bixby wasn't that bad. Had the best player in the State that year.

The game he's talking about was Solomon's junior year I think
Mustang beat them the next year when they had their full team...well, besides Johnson...

The year Mustang won in the first round of state Solomon missed at least 8 open shots in the lane with no one from Mustang close to him. Solomon was not that good of player. If he makes just four of eight in the lane Bixby beats them again. Mustang then lost to Put West who lost to Union in the finals. Union had an unfair advantage because all of their top 9 players had played together at Union since 8th grade unlike the OKC schools.

Laundry list of excuses in there. Union was really good that year!

Okc kids should play together, except they transfer like crazy.

You don't seem to understand athletics...there's a reason the games are actually played on the field or court.

Mustang just picked up 6ft7 athletic kid from Tulsa Edison. ....

No, he played for Long this summer. That is how he gets kids to transfer to Mustang. But Mustang and Long don't recruit. What a joke. Very rarely do you see eastside kids transfer where as many as ten in the OKC area transfer every year. How about the stud Midwest City got this summer that osu offered after his 9th grade year? Put West is just as bad as Mustang. Terry Evans's kid playing at three schools in three years, wow.
