I thought that the fact that we've played in more tight games than Baylor has was a benefit to us tonight.
Indeed, it certainly didn't hurt. Kentucky showed that Baylor had a vulnerability.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Kaylon Williams and Sharane Campbell-Olds each scored 15 points, and Oklahoma defeated No. 3 Baylor 68-64 on Wednesday night to end the Lady Bears' win streak at 25 games.
Peyton Little added 13 points and Gioya Carter had 12 for the Sooners (18-9, 12-4 Big 12), who clinched the No. 2 seed in the Big 12 tournament. The Sooners outscored the Lady Bears 18-10 from the free-throw line and improved to 8-0 at home in league play.
Nina Davis had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Alexis Prince added 12 points for Baylor (26-2, 15-1), which only other loss this season came to Kentucky on Nov. 17. The Lady Bears were tied for the second longest winning streak in the country with Princeton, one behind UConn.
Niya Johnson, the nation's leader in assists, had just five. She had 17 in the first meeting, an 89-66 win for Baylor on Feb. 11 in Waco, Texas.
The Lady Bears had already clinched the conference regular-season title.
The score was tied at 64 in the final minute when Williams was fouled. She made the second of two free throws to put Oklahoma up by a point with 30.5 seconds to play.
Baylor's Imani Wright missed an off-balance jumper, and Oklahoma's Gioya Carter rebounded, was fouled and made two free throws with 14.6 seconds left.
Wright missed a three, Dekeiya Cohen missed a putback, and Oklahoma's Campbell-Olds rebounded. She made one of two free throws to put the game out of reach.
Oklahoma rolled out to a 12-2 lead in the first five minutes. Baylor coach Kim Mulkey took all five players, including Davis, out of the game with 14:15 left in the first half, and Davis didn't come back for six minutes. Baylor rallied without her and trimmed its deficit to 16-15 before Oklahoma answered.
Oklahoma rallied and pushed its lead back up to 35-27 by halftime. Baylor trailed at the break for just the fourth time all season. The Sooners held Davis to six points on 2-for-6 shooting in the first half.
Davis got going early in the second half with two buckets that helped cut Oklahoma's lead to 35-33. A free throw by Davis tied the game at 45, and Baylor led by six before Oklahoma rallied in the final minutes.

I think the team has been on the verge of this type of performance for some time. It came together tonight. I wonder if this team didn't turn a corner that has been eluding recent teams for about four or five years. This team can win, and now they know it. They expect it.I thought our defense was the key. I don't understand it all but Whitney was explaining they'd just put these defenses in. We did a very good job on not giving up easy baskets and making them work. Even when their athletes kicked in we were ready. Plus we didn't turn the ball over(my pet peeve for like ever).
I thought this is as well as I've seen us play in a long time.

I sure am glad that you're a Sooner fan, although from your last post, one might wonder. Savor the moment, man! Quit trying to tell us how much better Baylor is than our girls are, OK? Even if it is true/
:ez-laugh::ez-laugh:I think the team may be fired up for the rest of the conference season.
We probably cost Baylor a #1 seed tonight.
Hahahahahaha Vinny is bashing Sherri Coale on a night like tonight. Absolutely predictable and quite funny. At least Norm is intelligent enough not to back him up on a night we beat Baylor.
Once again, read my posts, I stated several times how happy
I am we won. But reality is something else. I'm not one to waller in the happiness, I move on to the next thing. Waller if you want to though,
I don't care
