Baylor

This win will effect recruiting, but it will most definitely affect the team persona, and I'm not convinced that OU can't beat anyone.

I sure hope that win does affect recruiting. In fact, I hope Sherri called Lauren last night to congratulate her on her win and to point out how OU could compete for a NC if Lauren becomes a Sooner.

Guys I have a question? The Wicked Witch from Waco was very quite on the sidelines last night, she didn't get into it with the officials, seem to stay off the floor (most of the night) do you think the Big 12 might have said something to Baylor about her actions or maybe she wasn't feeling good, what do you think?

I don't watch a lot of Baylor games but these days it seems like she's more in control of herself on the road than she is in Waco.

I do think Kim hates to lose and she tried to win the game but...I'm not sure Kim was all that upset that Baylor lost. I think she will use this loss to her advantage in the future games. She will likely tell them they aren't all that good because OU kicked their butt. She will use that everyday in practice and going into the NCAA tourney. I think all good coaches would do the same thing, turn a negative into a positive to get the team to work harder at the most important time of the year.

It never gets old waking up to good news like @OU_WBBall beating Baylor. Sooooo proud. Keep pushing and believing in each other!

We won last night because:

On offense- we got balance in scoring and we went inside a lot, where Baylor is vulnerable.

On defense- we limited scoring in the paint to less than half of what Baylor scored in Waco (50-22). Baylor cannot beat you from the outside.

Turnovers- we only had 9 TOs compared to 20 in Waco. When we take care of the basketball, we are normally very hard to beat.

Fouls- we had no one to foul out. It always hurts when Kaylon, Gioya, and Sharane get in foul trouble.

OU was simply exceptional. Every starter and the top 2 reserves simply played exceptional games. And the reserves I'm talking about were Maddie and Nicole.

If we play like that, we can beat anyone. But history tells me it's not likely. We are allowed to dream, aren't we?

So, what is the consensus as to what seed we are in line for after last night? With an rpi of 17, can we get a four if we beat KU and OSU?

If we beat OSU and KU and go to the Big Twelve finals, I think we have a #3 locked.

Let's not forget ViVi's contribution. She was fearless and didn't give Baylor any hope when she was in there.

Finally, Kay-Kay shows up big in a big game. She was talking to herself in some rather mean terms when she missed the first of the late-game free throws. I thought she actually was almost in tears.

That, folks, is want to so deep it can elevate you when you win and cripple you if you lose.

So proud of this team and staff.

Totally agreed. It's going to be hard to challenge that 3 seedline, but who cares? There's not a lot of difference between 2 and 3, period.

The way we've been dissed so far this year in the polls, I'm not sure what happens.

And, today, I don't care.

Olly, I'm with ya there. We know how good this team is. That's all that matters.

The polls use an extremely simple formula:

1. List the 1 loss teams.
2. Then list the 2 loss teams.
3. Now list the 3 loss teams.
4. Well you get the pattern. Toss in one or two teams out of this sequence, but don't ever under any circumstances waste time thinking about strength of schedule, etc.

That is why their #36 team can beat their #3 team. The polls mean almost nothing in terms of quality of the teams.

I do think we helped ourselves in terms of the committee. I expect they would like to have us seeded well in the tournament so we can host rounds 1 & 2. They love great crowds and great atmosphere at the games. Our showing last night was renewed evidence we offer that in spades.

And there is something about our girls that makes for good TV.

Amen about the polls! I have to laugh at the people who don't like computer polls. A computer poll that is well designed is much more accurate than human polls.

But, Duke, even with eight or nine losses, will still contend for the top ten.
