OU chokes, Kansas choking right now. ISU caught a bad break with Niang but they could easily lose to UNC and the only hope is....Scott Drew and Baylor.

Are you forgetting that KU is missing an important player in Embid?

There are very high seeds from other conferences that have already and will choke later this tournament, and will next year and the year after. Who cares?

Think that's pretty apparent right now. It happens and Fraschilla who saw more big 12 games then anyone predicted our conference wouldn't do so well in the tourney.

And if the only time you watch or care about is during the tournament, you would be relatively uninformed.

Unfortunately, 2 of the better Big 12 teams have had injuries to key players pop up late in the season. KU lost this afternoon and I suspect ISU won't fare well without Niang. I don't think either team would have challenged for an NC, but they would have gone further at full strength.

They have the "next LeBron James" apparently in Wiggins, they should've beaten Stanford regardless.

Don't discount the fact that Stanford has very good posts. KU had nobody to defend them like Embiid. Huge advantage. And Niang is out for Iowa State. Can't say Big 12 is overrated when you have key injuries like that. Not fair to say.

I got jumped all over when I said this earlier this season. It was pretty evident to me that the Big 12 was overrated most of the season.

I guess I misunderstand the meaning of the word "choke" This post makes no sense to me.

+1

The big12 was the best during the non conference. Attrition throttled 3 of the top teams if you throw in cobbins/Clark.

It appears the sec is peaking at the right time.

A lot of national folks thought KU would be ripe for an early upset, even with Embiid.

The Big 12 had a plethora of good teams but not a truly great team.

Emibid and Niang's injuries are key factors for the best two teams. Unfortunate for the league.

Maybe when OU starts five seniors they can win an NCAA Tournament game.

It's fair to say OU was overrated but that's a testament to the coaching job LK and staff did this year.

OSU with the post player they lost earlier may have fared better thru the season and been seeded higher (not to mention Smarts 3 game suspension). I didn't expect them to do much in March though.

KSU got a bad matchup too but didn't expect much out of them.

KU with Embiid is as good as anyone and without him they are a middle if the pack team.

I'm just not sure which conference was better than the big 12? ACC wasnt very good and neither is big 10. Sec sucks as we know and PAC 10 is just ok.

So the big 12 was probably the best regardless of tourney results.

Duke loses. ACC is overrated. Ohio State loses. Big Ten is overrated. Most of the BCS conferences probably are overrated compared to what they once were. The Wichitas, San Diego States, Gonzagas, and Butlers of the world can beat you at least some of the time.

... due to the youth/inexperience factor. ;)

Haha. Maybe. :)

I've been down on them b/c their guards aren't very good. They basically rely on Wiggins and Embiid, and that formula usually doesn't work in the Dance.

No. It was not overrated. The Big 12 was the best conference this year, it just didn't have any great team. A bunch of good teams. There is reason why the Big 12 looked so good in nonconference and had the best rpi.
Injuries hurt Kansas. Injuries will now hurt Iowa St. OU screwed up but OU overachieved all year long and finally hit the wall before the tournament. Osu became a mess during the year. Texas did good. KState got a bad draw.

I didn't have any big 12 team going past the Sweet 16 but Iowa St and only had them in the Elite 8. Just not any great teams that could make a long run In the tournament IMO.

A 4 point lead with 30 seconds left is a choke. I don't care who you are, that would be choking the game away.

That depends on your point of view. If your team won a game in that situation, you would say it was great play on your team's part.
