Big 12 Tournament Bracket Generator

The way that KU has played away from AFH (getting beat convincingly 3 times), I think the race is between OU and ISU. KU still has to go Austin, Waco, Manhattan, and Norman. At best, I think they split those, but they could also lose all 4 of those games. This isn't the same KU team this year that we are used to.

And just as I say this earlier today....ISU craps the bed at home against WV. Nice call on my part....ugh.:facepalm Just when I think I have it all figured out.

Seriously, I have no idea who is going to be our biggest challenger down the stretch. I guess it's WV for now

Iowa State goes like 6 deep and doesn't play particularly good defense. WV can't score enough. Kansas won't go away until someone makes them.

I know that KU has some voodoo over this conference, but I'm simply not a believer in them this year. They don't guard the perimeter well and they don't have a rim protector. And they have absolutely stunk away from home lately....as well as struggling some at AFH. Having said that, every team in this conference has weaknesses as well.

Another great "call" on my part. I should have learned that you can't count out KU until their dead.:facepalm

But I thought I would bump this thread. And since I'm going to KC and I'm just going to buy my tickets off the street, I would prefer that KU and ISU be on the other side of the bracket.....that would help my wallet.:D

I've recopied the link. I think we have the best shot at the #2 seed and if we beat Baylor, we will have the tie-breaker over both them and WV.

Your analysis isn't wrong. OU just laid 2 fat eggs against KSU and Taco Tech that cost them a shot at it. This is one of Kansas's worst teams since Self has been there, it's a testament to his coaching prowess that they just avoid the bad conference losses so well. I'm pegging them at 3-1 the remainder of the way and OU 4-0 the remainder, meaning the reason KU won it outright is they only had one bad loss and we had two.

What hurt OU the most was the home loss to KU. Win that, and OU is tied for 1st place. KU won the conference race this time in Norman. That hurts my soul.

This.

And the loss at Tech, while certainly frustrating and disappointing, was not a bad loss.

Right now, the Sooners have the tiebreaker over both West Virginia and Baylor. If we go 3-1 there's almost no way we won't be the #2 seed.

Unless WVU wins out and we still go 3-1.

If they lose a game, it'll be almost a guarantee us the 2 seed.

If WE win out, we get the 2 seed.

Drop 1, and we'll need WVU to drop one as well.

Best case scenario:

Iowa State beats WVU tomorrow night, but loses @Kansas later on.

Baylor loses to us, and KU at home.

That would put KU, Iowa State, AND Texas all on the top-half of the bracket.

OU would (most likely) play Texas Tech first, then the winner of WVU/Baylor.

Agree, Trav. And that loss didn't just hurt our chances in the conference race, it just downright HURT (if you know what I mean). Like I said in another thread, toughest loss for me to take since the title game in '88.

Everything looks good in your above scenario with one exception....Texas. If Texas wins out and we go 3-1, then I believe that Texas would get the 2 seed (based on their win over KU) and we would get the 3 seed. But I don't expect them to win out.

Disagree. Tech is going to finish either 6th or 7th in the conference. They are a competitive team, but it's still a bad loss for a top 5 team.

Losing to that garbage IU team in the final four with a Maryland team we'd already drubbed waiting in the title game.

right now they are the #25 RPI team. That is not a bad loss at all. Just a frustrating loss because that virtually closed the door on us getting the #1 seed in the Big 12 tourney and a game we were favored and should have won

Their RPI ranking is currently 23; their SOS is ranked third in the nation. They are tourney-bound, unless they blow it, and we were their third win in a row over a top 25 team. Panicky Sooner fans may view the loss as a bad one, but the committee won't.

Not comparied to KU's 19-point loss to oswho. Or Iowa's loss to Penn State. Or UVA's losses to Ga. Washington, Va. Tech and Georgia Tech. Or Mich State's loss to Nebraska.

Well this looks good, but really the best case scenario is KU loses 3 of their next 5 and we win out, right? Probably not gonna happen, but hey I think they can at least lose 2 of them. We just need to take care of business and win the ones we are suppose to (all of them)... We're in great position for a 2 seed in Big 12 and a1seed in NCAA's

And let's be honest the one that really is frustrating is @KSU. That's a bad loss. @TTU is not as terrible as now as it would have been 3 weeks ago

I agree with this (though part of the reason they're the #25 team is the fact that they beat us). The KSU loss was worse.

To me, the losses weren't so much the problem as the way we were playing. Hopefully, Saturday got us on the right foot again. We won handily on the road against a very good team despite not shooting the ball particularly well. In some respects, it's among our best wins of the season.
