Big Monday: Kansas at West Virginia

Man, I thought KU was dead. People keep forgetting they have won the last ignorant amount of Big 12 titles. I have always said they are the favorite until they don't win the title.

Please. No one's forgotten. How could we? TV commentators mention that fact incessantly -- easily a dozen times or more during virtually every one of their televised games -- and then there are the frequent reminders from certain posters on this board.

Every season is an entity unto itself. KU may well win again this season, but it won't be because they won last year, the year before that, or the year before that. And while last night's win was a good one for KU, we had our own impressive comeback conference win on the road. We were down 13 against TCU and came back to win it. We just didn't have Jay Bilas hyping our victory as if it was one for the ages.

I hope our players aren't as spooked by KU as some of our fans are.

I do think KU players wear the Big 12 streak with pride even though it's a new roster every year.

Course it never hurts to have 3 or 4 lottery picks every year, lol.

:ez-roll: So true, so true!!!

I found myself cheering for KU down the stretch; just about everything about WVU annoys me. But arguably, it was better for us for KU to prevail anyway. The best we can do is split with WVU, but we still have a chance to sweep KU.

It was a nice comeback win for KU, but Bilas treated it like it was miraculous. He does love the bluebloods.

They were down like 13 at the half and 11 with 7 or 8 minutes left. It was a great comeback.

Every announcer on every TV station all over the country has fallen all over themselves with good things to say about this year's OU team and we still sit here and ***** about one guy saying good things about Kansas. It was a great win and they deserve to be commended for it.

I completely agree with you but it was kinda funny to hear Bilas gush all over his microphone. :ez-roll:

Self should send Thuggins a nice bunt cake for not playing teddy Allen for even one minute.

Allow your players to fight fans with no repurcussions while benching a budding star for back talking you in practice. Way to send a message to your team, Thuggins! Great example you are, Thuggins!

It was all those things. So was our win at TCU.

Some of our own fans (forget Bilas's absurd gushing; he'll always go over the top when a blueblood is involved) seem cowed by the fact that KU had a comeback win; that's my point. Some of our own fans seem unwilling or unable to buy in on this team. They're enjoying the season, but they're still trepidatious, so much so that a comeback that was in no way superior to our own in Fort Worth (we were down 12 with under 10 minutes to go) has them seemingly ready to all but concede the crown to KU.

We're 5-1 against ranked teams, with only two of those six games played in Norman. No one has played more Top 25 teams than we have and no one has beaten more of them. We've obviously still got a tough row to hoe; we could lose any game remaining on our schedule. But so could KU or any other team in the conference.

Exactly.
