The No. 10 Norman North girls outscored No. 18 Yukon by 12 points in a fast-paced third quarter to help secure a 51-42 win Friday at North Gym.
The Timberwolves (9-3) iced the game with a steal and fastbreak layup by guard Jacie Evans with a little more than a minute left. Evans led all scorers with 20 points. She had just four points before halftime, as North relied on post offense, led by forward Emma Base.
Base finished with seven points, but just two of those came in the second half. North guard Kayton Kite hit two 3-pointers in the third quarter and finished with 14 points. Yukon guard Meya Case and Rebecka Cammon led the Millers (8-4) with 14 points each.
North led 38-26 at the end of the decisive quarter and rode that margin to a fourth win in five games. The TWolves were coming off a 6554 loss at No. 3 Westmoore Tuesday. They travel to No. 11 Deer Creek Tuesday.
