Biggest Transfer Dissappointments

Just my 2 cents on TG.

Yes he had a great game (out of this world) against ku in the tourney.
Now, expecting him to do that against b12 competition EVERY game.. night in night out… was overboard.

He’s a decent post, can hit the three, a bit flat footed gives 100% effort every time out.

Hopefully moser can get a little more athletic big in the next class.

He's a below-the-rim center in an above-the-rim league. If you're not athletic then you better make up for it in strength, speed, and skill. He has most of the skills, he has to work on the other things. I don't know that there is enough time or if he will be able to develop into a productive center in this league. The guys he is going up against are bigger, stronger, and more athletic. You can see other teams isolate him and throw it to their center against him. He gives it all he's got. I have to give him that.

Tanner is an ordinary B12 player. That’s not a knock at all. It’s one of the best conferences in America and he is worthy of being in the rotation for a Tournament team. I suspect this is the way it is for majority of players who are player of the year types in small conferences— they have a spot in the Power 5, but they won’t necessarily stand out. Tanner is a contributing player. Currently he probably needs to be more than that for us and it leads to more pressure on him than there probably should be— he’s a solid player, period. There isn’t much more to tap than has already been tapped— he will occasionally have big games. Some bad ones. Most will be in between. Typical for role-player types. He’s fine. We just need to have players on the roster that can handle more heavy lifting.

Totally agree

Biggest is how soft this team is. They get pushed around by everyone. Get some muscles on these guys please. And another question, when did it become legal to drive into a defensive player to knock him off his defensive position all he way to the basket. Several teams have driven their shoulder into Grove and pushed him back 5 or 6 feet to the basket?

There is absolutely too much common sense in this post for a message board.

Well said. For those down on him, just think how much better last years squad would have been with him or even Chargois.

POY Candidate, no way. Tanner is adjusting. Really not a bad year. Leading scorer, brings emotion, is passionate, gets excited. Wouldn’t mind 4 more like that. He will be better next year beacause he cares. He will get stronger and have a nice season next year. Came from Eastern Washington to Oklahoma and the Big 12. Adjustin.

Is this his dad?

The biggest disappointment is TG defense. He tries to be tough, but is always out of position. Doesn’t attack the glass for rebounds like he should. Chargios plays with more intensity. We need another big next year to help TG. I have the perfect guy…Jake Stephens from VMI…he will be a grad transfer next year. A consistent 15 pts, 10 reb, 2-3 ast, 1-2 blocks a game. Perfect big man for Moser style of play.

Coach Dildy did follow Stephens on Twitter in the last day or so. Stephens followed back FWIW.

He also followed two '22 kids.

Bobi Klintman - who I read an article about this morning.

and Tavi Jackson

At least it seems like Moser knows he needs to do more than bring in just the three freshman next year.

At this point I'm guessing Gibson, Big Rick, and probably Mason all leave. At least two of the three. We need to bring in impact players to replace them.
