Blakers vs Thunder

I was at the game too, I didn't boo, because I don't boo. However, during introductions, he got a rousing ovation, which is cool, his teammates were jabbing him about it.

During intros, he's a former Sooner, during the game, he's a Clipper. I don't think he got booed. I think he just got treated like an opponent. When he's at the line, you cheer loud so he'll miss. When he misses a dunk, you cheer. When he makes an amazing play, you ooh and ah, but you don't stand up and cheer. As a Thunder fan, you're rooting for the Thunder. These guys are professionals now, it doesn't matter where they went to school or if they went to school. I'm as big of a Blake fan and an OU fan as anyone, but I cheered for Kevin Durant tonight.

As for cheering for Mason, he was cheered for being a former Thunder player, just as much as being an Aggie.

This is sports, we can't take it that seriously.

beat me to it, but all of this. i didn't hear many boos, but i heard a lot of "oohs." what 38special pointed out was the same reception he got last time. and if najera had played for the thunder at one point, he would receive the same kind of cheers mason got tonight.

Blake is a great representative for Oklahoma. I don't care who he plays for. The least people can do is not boo him.

I can honestly say, I didn't hear one boo. And I had as good of seats as Blake did, so pretty sure he didn't hear any either.

Uhhhh, the guy is one of the best basketball players to ever come from the state and he gets boo'd? He is a class individual, plays harder than anyone, is amazing to watch, and OSU fans at an NBA GAME decide to boo him?

That is just weak. Really. Freakin. Weak.

whatever.

They give him a standing ovation when he is introduced. When he steps on the court though he is just another player in the league.

Did you get pissy when they cheered when he missed a FT too?

38 beat me to it and said it much better

Cheering a missed free throw is completely different than booing. If you think we're crazy, read mayberry's article on newsok. Its a bullet in his observations.

In my opinion, it's fine to treat Blake like an opponent--cheer when he misses a shot, or not say anything when he makes something--but where I was sitting, every dunk he made incited a scattering of boos. I tried to look for these fools but they were above where I was sitting. I mean, it wasn't like the whole arena was booing, but it was noticeable.

Maybe they were booing the lapse in defense by the Thunder?

I'm just saying, not everything is anti-OU. Fans boo when Zach Randolph breaks free for a dunk too. Is that because aggie-Thunder fans hate Michigan State?

From where i was sitting in the arena i noticed some boss when Blake would do something, but not much of a reaction when anyone else on the Clippers did. To me that would tell me that the people in my general direction were anti-Blake.

Maybe it's a problem with Thunder fans if they're just randomly booing when the opponent dunks then...

I've never been to an arena where fans booed an opponent for scoring who wasn't a "villain" or excessively celebrating.

I'm not saying you need to cheer Blake as he sticks his nut sack in your favorite Thunder player's mouth. What I am saying is that if you are some idiotic hick OSU fan and you boo Blake simply as a result of that, then you are a moron.

Post of the Month for several reasons!:clap:clap:clap

You were deaf then. I was there. Lots of boos. Now as to their intent???? not sure. But Blake does act like he gets mugged sometimes when he gets fouled and thats when the majority of the boos came from.

I cheered everytime he dunked or had a good play. But, in the end I wanted to Thunder to win. It was actually hard for me, never felt that way at a sporting event.
