Bolden on Campus

Still slim. But he's here!

So you're saying there's a chance :dance005:

I was called out for saying if he is a Sooner next year he could be the man on a final 4 type team. I think that's not a big stretch at all.

Good news. Jerry Meyer got some bad info apparently...

Someone on SoonerScoop posted McGusty had to cancel his visit. Said it wasn't a big deal. I find that tough to believe since his buddy Jay Jay Chandler is on an unofficial and Bolden is there after calling McGusty.

Can anyone confirm or deny? I guess we will know after Saturday's scrimmage.

SoonerScoop confirmed something minor "came up" and McGusty will not be in Norman this weekend. They called Jay Jay Chandler and he's still coming.

We have a much better chance at Bolden than people think. In fact, I think we may be
the leader at this point. He loved his visit and his dad is coming around. He sees that
he can come to a top 10 program and push us over the top and not be just another cog
at Duke, Kansas or Duke. Plus he can play more than 15 or 20 minutes a game as he
would at Kentucky. Look for him to make another visit with his mother soon. The other
visitors were all 2017 kids. Derek Williams - 6'8", Trae Young, Chandler, Jasey and a
7'2" kid from Europe were the others at the scrimmage. Buddy and our 2 freshmen did
a great job with them. McGusty, Williams, Jasey and the European kid are all at Sunrise.
Sunrise will be a top 5 prep school in the US over the next few years and our relationship
with them should be of great benefit. And yes, we do have a good shot at Young because
of his parents.

ouleopard...thanks for the info. love reading your posts. If we got Bolden to go along with what we already have on campus and coming to campus, along with Young.......we would have a fantastic nucleus.

Lon and Co. are slowly building a beast

Hopefully, the scrimmage was helpful.

Is Bolden going to sign during the early period?

Young really likes OU however if he doesn't go there it is most likely he wanted to go off on his own for a few years.

Kentucky told him if you plan on being there more than two years go somewhere else because we will have you ready for the NBA in that time.

Thanks for the info, although I do not know how to properly temper my anticipation. Many nights laying awake thinking of what can be...

Kentucky's players are mostly ready for the NBA when they get to Lexington. Cal is not that great a coach but he runs a good snakeoil sale.

I hate Cal with a passion but he does motivate ultra talented kids to play hard and play defense and they go against NBA talent every day in practice, that is no small thing in player development.

Kids like Bolden and Young are the missing pieces to place OU in that elite category, imo. I hope they see that and are willing to be a part (I'm sure that is what OU is selling).

Most legit and great info on the board.
