Is it possible Booker not signing yet is somehow related to Kruger violating the NCAA rules by speaking about him?

To be safe we could possibly have him wait on signing until the situation is cleared by the NCAA.

Just a thought.

I thought of that, but it was such a minor violation, I doubt that is the holdup.

crossed my mind but highly doubtful. He literally caught himself and apologized for mentioning his name immediately. I'm sure it's reported and insignificant.

I'm wondering what the hold up is on Booker too. This team really needs another shooter. I heard the Kruger interview too, and as soon as he mentioned his name, Kruger said oops, no, I can't be talking about him as he is still a recruit. I can't believe that has anything to do with the hold up. I'll be happy to get him signed.

He has now signed.

Patience is a virtue.

The "delay" we saw with Booker is nothing unusual for basketball signing periods. Having followed OU basketball since the late 1970s, I have seen this happen numerous times. The fact that the basketball office does not put out a press release on the first day of the signing period does not mean anything nefarious is afoot. Unlike football, it does not seem to be overly important to basketball players or basketball coaches to get letters of intent faxed in on the first day, or to issue press releases on the first day.

Let this be a lesson learned, as this will surely happen again in future years.
