I can tell you with 100% certainty that the coaching staff thought they had Thompson at one point the 1st go around ...

Thompson best chance at major playing time is beating out Rondel Walker, who had a much better freshmen season.

Boone and Williams were starters last year and have yet to plays minute in the games or exhibition. A lot of minutes will be split. He may wind up coming off the bench

Because he is a good shooter?

I'm not going to use a partial freshman season to say he won't shoot it well. He may not, but I'm not going to make that conclusion based on a year where he wasn't happy with how he was used (and probably wasn't used correctly), and had two injuries that we required surgery. I'm guessing if he ends up somewhere that he fits better, he'll play/shoot better.

I'm REALLY curious to see what kind of bigs Moser goes after and lands. Neither Krutwig nor T. Groves were highly recruited, or are overly athletic. Is he going to go after some same kind of players? Guys that may be 3* guys but fit what he wants? Or is he going to find talented bigs that are also more athletic, and get them to Norman? I'm very interested to see how that plays out, b/c ALL of Moser's success has been with Krutwig as his starting center.

I suspect we won't see Moser going after big athletic kids with limited developed skills or a limited basketball IQ. I know at least Sooner04 and myself will be happy about that.

i was wrong as well about his upside .. (i always thought the idea that he was a 1 and done was crazy talk based on his size/frame in high school)

I was never sold on him being a 5 star superstar player. I did think he’d be a really good college player tho. I’m surprised he isn’t playing more and making an impact.

I saw him I think 4 times & wondered the same thing. Thought he was definitely top 150 & probably top 100. But didn’t have the athleticism, handles, defense to be a 5 star imo
