Buddy Hield has committed to Oklahoma

If you are right, then Kruger needs to recruit another SG for 2012

I hope LK has two guards on his recruiting list every season. There is no such thing as a roster overload at that position.

As for Pledger, if he finds his touch on a consistent basis, as I believe he will, we won't be having this discussion again. I'm the one who predicted that he would break OU's three point shooting record before he even arrived on campus. I don't mind admitting that I may have been wrong on that count. But I'm not wrong when I say he can flat out stroke it from behind the arc, and I'm still convinced that he will prove me right before he's through.

I forgot to add that I'm thrilled with the news about Buddy Hield!

Next week OU will bring in Jelon Hornbeak, a 6'4 shooting guard who on paper is ranked higher than Buddy. He has already made an unofficial visit this summer.

They are also really high on both instate guards in 2013, Juwan Parker of Tulsa Washington and Jordan Woodard of Edmond Memorial. They were also in on the visit this weekend.

Thanks for the update, WJ!

Great job on the Buddy Hield report! You and Sam scooped everybody on this one! :woot

Gotta love some jackass on here trashing our players. Stooge.

I have found that when two people are on different sides of an issue. And one of them goes directy to name calling. Well, then, the name caller has nothing. Absolutely nothing. What are you 16 yrs old.

The poster I directed my comment to and I have had a running banter on Pledger for months. Some of it fun. Some of it heated. He thinks coaching can somehow make him quicker and a better defender. I think he is a liabilty and a lost cause.

I'm an OU fan. If Pledger is in the game, I'll be rooting for everyone of his leadfooted 3 pt. lobs to go in the hole.

If there is some kind of requirement that everyone that post here has to drink some version of your crimson and cream kool-aide, then, one of the administarors need to tell me. I don't feel any need to swear blind allegence to every stiff Capel brought in.

OU needs better players that were on the floor last season. And 2012 is non too early to get started.

I think the bigger story here is that you're going to divert from good news for the program, with tired arguments.

The good news is that you can state your opinion without juvenile name calling. I will certainly give you credit for that. And the next time you get tired of an arguement, just let me know. I'll find a different one.

:facepalm

Can't complain about top 100 players, and OU needs shooting guards.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jelon was to commit on his visit seeing that fellow AAU teammates Austin, House and knowles are all committed now.

First let me say I am ecstatic with this commit. You need the first one to get the ball rolling, but I do have a few questions...

Did KU offer this guy? And with Perry Ellis committing to KU is this a guy that will jump on a KU offer if one does come?

Wasn't it reported on this board that Kruger has been on this kid for awhile and it was kind of expected that he could hold him together for OU.

That's true. You can also do it without disrupting what was meant to be very positive news about a kid who has committed to wear the C&C next year.

We all have an opinion about certain players who may or may not measure up to our expectations. The key to any worthwhile discussion is to recognize when it's proper to voice our displeasure and when it's best to keep quiet about it.

Just a little advice from someone who has been around long enough to have learned a few of those lessons the hard way. ;)

How does Jelon compare to Buddy?

I'm trying to be a good boy. Sam has already scolded me on the same topic in a private message. Didn't you notice I let the juvenile dumb comment in the post above yours go without making an issue. See, I can do better.
