Buddy probably just won POY

Not if the media has anything to do with it, they all like Ellis

Buddy can't win because his school colors aren't red and blue.

I don't think Ellis deserves it, but they do love giving awards to the chickenhawks.

The Hawks won the conference title and Ellis is a senior. That could be the tie breaker.

If OU had lost after Buddy's late turnover, would that single play cost him POY? Maybe so.

Ellis is a Junior.

I heard an interview with Dave Armstrong on Friday and he said both he and Reid Gettys vote Ellis. I don't think Hield can beat the strong KU bias in this part of the country.

If he played for KU and had this type of season he would be a Wooden finalist.

Ellis isn't even the best PF in the conference this year...

All the national media seems to agree on Buddy as POY, so maybe their early favoritism can counteract the Jayhawk bias. Ellis was basically hated by his own fanbase until his strong run starting a month ago, which makes me wonder when exactly the voters on this award start to tune in to games*. If you credit Perry's great stretch now, surely you can't debit Buddy's stellar non-conference play in one of the toughest schedules in the nation.

*it would not surprise me to learn that many only watch the last two or so months of games wire-to-wire. In which case, ugh. Get new voters.
