Buddy's Kings debut

The new owner, Vivek Ranadive, is the guy who wanted his coach to play 4-on-5 defense and keep a man on the offensive end at all times. You may make of that what you wish.

Ha! I hadn't heard that, but it's pretty bad. In the NBA? It's a gimmick you might see in a grade school YMCA league.

I thought it was the Maloof family that were considered idiots. They sold the team to the new owner in 2013, and I don't know much about the new owner.

Honestly, I don't think much of Vlade Divac as the GM .... and the new owner selected him so you may be right. He sure didn't get much for Cousins. They're trying to rebuild the team thru draft picks kind of like the 76'ers are doing.

It may work out well for Buddy.

I was surprised when I realized Divac was the King's GM. He was known more for his flopping in the NBA than his skill set.

And fans here thought Marcus Smart invented flopping! :ez-laugh:

I'm getting to watch the Kings game tonight because they're playing the Nets. Buddy came in late in the first quarter and hit his first three shots, two of them from deep. At the half, he has 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting and one steal in 9 minutes of action.

They better play him as much as possible the rest of the season

I wonder why Joerger has been limiting Buddy's minutes if he's supposed to be a key piece of the franchise moving forward? Maybe they're still gunning for that 8 seed or maybe he doesn't want to thrust Buddy into a high pressure role.

I just clicked on the box score and he is leading the team is scoring from the bench. I don't think they should keep him there for long. I suspect he's on the bench until he gets acclimated to the team.

Buddy finished with 16 points in 26 minutes. He hit his first four shots from deep and finished 4-of-6 from behind the line, 6-of-11 overall, with one rebound, two steals and three turnovers.

Turnovers are killing him.

He's only averaging 1 turnover a game. But he does have 10 in the last 3 games, probably because he's getting acclimated with his new team & teammates. I think he's a lock for 1st team all rookie.

I think there's also concern about his defense. That could be why he's not getting more minutes.

Yeah he's still a minus defender, but he's giving effort & focus again like when he was a frosh here. I think he becomes a solid defender in about 2-3 years.

I think they were on the verge of paying to get rid the maniac.

Buddy continues to deliver solid, if not stellar, performances in limited minutes. Last night against San Antonio, he had 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting with 2 rebounds and 1 assist in 18 minutes of action.

On Monday night against Denver, he scored 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting, with 3 boards and a steal in 23 minutes.

His +/- has been way better as a King too! But they don't play him enough

Buddy started against the Wizards tonight. He already has 16 points with eleven minutes to go in the second quarter on 6 of 8 shooting from the field (4 of 6 from three). He looks more like "Buddy Buckets" now!

Buddy's gonna be a good NBA player. Probably not superstar level like Blake Griffin is but a solid player. It's good for OU to get more players like that in the NBA though. It's really difficult to make it in the NBA.

Buddy started again tonight. 30 minutes, a team-high 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting (3-of-5 from deep) with six rebounds and three assists.
