Even with his struggles during the Cincy game he is still shooting a career high 40.5% from three point range (take out his Cincy game, 0-5, and he's up to 43%).

Considering he shot 28% as a freshman, then back to back 34% seasons this has been a welcome benefit to this game. One of my biggest knocks on Cade in the past was that he was too streaky from deep and when he was off his droughts were really noticeable. This year he only has two truly horrible shooting performances (Cincy and Coppin St). The rest of the games he is at least hitting a couple threes every game so right now is he avoiding the long droughts that plagued him as sophomore and junior.

I think what makes his shooting this year even more notable is I doubt he is getting as good looks as in years past. With Fitz as the only other player the defense really targets he is no long looked at as the 3rd or 4th option when on the court as in years past. This means he has to work more for his shots and take some of the difficult variety.

Given all that he effort he has given to the program I really hope some other players step up and really help him out as we approach conference season.

I think Cade is having a great year. He was asked to be a team leader and that is exactly what he has been since the season started. OU has had more talented seniors in the past. But none who worked harder and set a better example for the younger guys to follow than Cade Davis.

The kid from Elk City is one player I will miss next year! :cade

It is a shame that his junior and senior seasons have been so rough. He is a player that is very easy to like. He works hard and stays out of trouble. I would take a team full of Cade Davis type guys.

I think it was a tough adjustment for him to have so many wide open shots his first two years with Blake. I dont think he was used to being wide open. Now he's playing more like he did in HS where the opposing team was more focused on stopping him and it's made him more of a complete player and more aggressive, instead of just standing in the corner shooting 3's.

Sometimes making shots with a guy on you is easier than being wide open. Just as Doug Gottlieb.
