He's 6-26 in our last five guys. On the rare game when Cade is on from 3pt land I don't mind him jacking up 3's. But I do struggle when he just shoots a garbage shot.

He's honestly the worst "3 point weapon" I can remember OU having. He's 23% the last five games. What a threat.

Has he always had this much arch on his shot? I dont remember it being this bad. Its really hard to have consistency when you have so much freaking arch on it. It literally gets half way to the roof. When he misses, he misses bad. That Airball he had against osu was two feet short of the rim

Yeah, he's always had the super rainbow.

I know he's always had a high arching shot but this year he's taken it to a different level. That's why his % are way down

Look, the ladies in the nose bleed seats need to know his arm strength. Cut the man some slack.

Davis can do whatever he wants. I'm not going to tell the one guy that works his butt off the whole game to not shoot 3's. He's earned the right to shoot the ball. He was 1-3 on 3 pointers against Tex.

Wow. 1 for 3. What a killer shot! And Cade does not work his butt off the entire game. Have you forgotten his stellar defense late in the OSU game? There's been plenty of times where he drags his feet.

To be fair, he had 4 fouls, so he couldn't risk fouling.

I do think it's off-base to call Cade the one guy who works his butt off the entire game though.
I think pretty much everybody on this team works hard for 40 minutes. They're not always doing the right things, but they're playing hard and not giving up or backing down.

I could see you getting on him when he went 2-7 against OSU, but 1-3 is not that big of a deal. He needs to be shooting 3-4 threes per game to keep the defense honest.

If he is open, he needs to take the shot. If he is not open, don't take the shot unless the shot clock is expiring....

The 3 pt shot is a big part of his game, so saying he needs to stop shooting it is crazy at best.

Not sure his 1-3 from 3-pt range last night was the reason we lost by 20.

I think he's earned the right to shoot. Here's where he ranks on OU's all-time 3-pt list. He's about to pass Price, Mookie and Minor in the next few weeks.

1. Terry Evans - 259
2. Hollis Price - 241
3. Tim Heskett -215
4. Tony Crocker - 198
5. Ryan Minor - 170
6. Mookie Blaylock - 169
7. Brent Price - 167
8. Cade Davis - 163
9. JR Raymond - 153
10 Austin Johnson - 144
11 Nate Erdman - 141

Kind of amazing, he's having almost an exact replica of Tony Crocker's senior season.

2009 Tony Crocker - 59/169 - 34%
2010 Cade Davis - 59/170 - 34%

Good stuff 52. Crock and Cade both had to shoot alot of contested 3's because of being asked to score. Cade would shoot a higher % if we had more offensive threats in the paint, or a nice drive and kick PG.

Hard to dispute facts, but Cade doesnt belong on a list with those guys in terms of the quality of player. Cade is a good role player, those guys were great go-to players.

I like Cade, but 36% from deep as your lead shooter is nothing to brag about.

I might agree if you can come up with a better option on the perimeter.

Pledger is arguably our best outside threat at just under 37% from three. Blair, Newell and Neal are averaging in the 20s from behind the arc. Cade is at nearly 36%.

The answer, of course, is for everyone to stop shooting so many shots from the perimeter, because this is not a good shooting team, and that's an understatement. However, since this year's team does not have an inside game except for Fitz, passing up open shots from the outside would only make it more difficult for him to do a little work on the interior.

Cade has no choice but to take those shots. There IS NO ONE ELSE. The only other option is Thompson. For my part, I would rather take my chances with Cade than to see Nick struggle to guard everyone he faces.

Cade's percentage might well have been higher if he played on a team where he could be a spot up 3 point shooter. If we had a realistic threat of a driving point guard and a dominant big man to collapse the defense, he would get more open shots. He has to create his own shot too many times.

wut?

Cade had that for three seasons with the two Blake Griffin teams and being the fourth option on last year's offense with TMG, Tiny and Tony.

Update: 6-31 in the last six games. That's 19% from downtown, folks. And some of those shots looked liked absolutely garabge.

Slow clap, everyone.
