It is becoming very apparent that no matter how well calipari can recruit he will continue to get owned in the tournament when he comes up against a top tier coach. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Congrats to Calipari on taking a team with five future pros including the best player in college basketball all the way to the Elite Eight.

One and done kids or young teams usually turn the ball over and don't shoot free throws very well.

See Memphis last year and Kentucky this year for proof.

Just look on the bright side, Kentucky: in two-three years when you realize that this team probably commited countless NCAA violations in true Calipari style, you won't have to forfeit a championship.

Classic post! :clap

there are few things sweeter than watching a Calamari team lose

The only time I've ever wanted a Calipari team to win was against Kansas in the title game two years ago. Of course, they choked and handed KU the title on a silver platter.

You hit the nail on the head. Cal has always been that way. Sutton whipped him like a rented mule during one of OSU's final four runs. Cal had more talent on that team (Camby and co).

Tonight Huggy bear owned him with again less talent. That should be a sign in itself that the man cheats. How he keeps reeling in the talent with sub-par coaching skills is dough.

A very good day today. A Big 12 team loses and Cal loses.

The only Big XII teams I actively root against are Kansas and Texas. Why wouldn't we want Kansas State to make the Final Four? I really like Frank Martin and his players. They seem to be decent guys.

I loved Martin's half-time speech. Asking his players about being heroes and about giving up so many ORs. I'm sure a the part that he was dropping f-bombs on the kids was left out for tv, but the guy is alright in my books.

Watching the Kentucky fans cheer during the game yesterday was entertaining. Think they realized they have sold their souls?

I was horrified by the way K-State fans took over the LNC earlier this year. I bet 90% of them didn't even know about basketball until two years ago. But, I was rooting for them yesterday.

As for Cal, other than the multiple infractions, I think he is a decent guy. I had a buddy who interned for the Yankees one Spring Training when Cal was still at Memphis and they were in town to play South Florida. He tells the story that Cal came to the facility one day and walked up to the press box where he is and tells him he wants to speak with Joe (Torre) and see if he wanted tickets to the game. Cal introduced himself by saying "I'm John Calipari, I used to coach the Nets."

Seems to me it's the rest of the Big-8 fans who forget that KState usetabe a very good basketball program back in the day. Tex and Jack Gardner are fricking legends.

That was a while ago though. These were young fans that probably barely remember the Tom Ashbury/Jim Wooldridge eras.

Add Ok. State on the list for me. Those 3 teams I never pull for in the tourney.

I'll give Calipari the benefit of the doubt in this game, I don't think any coaching could have prevented a 12% output from 3 point range.

Kentucky averaged 33% from 3 point range during the season, even if they take a dip and only shoot 25% from 3 they win the game. Unbelievable how awful they shot.
