I am excited about basketball again. I hope OU can pull out the next five games. Going into that Cincinatti game at 9-1 would be nice. I am not sure how good Arkansas and Houston are but I would hope OU can beat both of those teams in Nomran and OKC.

I like there chances. I think SLU is a little better than OU but would have been nice if three of our best players don't sit in the first half with foul trouble. I like the 9-1 going to Cincinnati though.

Honestly there is not a game left on our non-conference slate that we can't win, even at Cincy. Cincy has already lost to Presbyterian and Marshall at home this season.

I fixed it for you... lol. :D

But, I agree... we have little room for error regarding off nights, injuries, and/or foul trouble... but at full strength I think we are a pretty dangerous team with a pretty high ceiling. Certainly higher than I thought before this weekend.

I agree. I think we've got a good chance to win both and probably Cincinnati too. As long as they continue to improve!

would anyone really complain with 8-2 after our recent woes? As long as they continue to play hard and focus on defense, they'll be just fine going into Cincy

I predicted us to win all 5 before the season, but Oral Roberts, Arkansas, and Houston are all losable games. Still, I think we'll pull out close victories in all of them due to home court and be 9-1 heading into the Cincy game.

A little OT, but was watching boxing the other night and the venue was in Cincinnati. Some OU/Cincy advertising in the background...stupid post, just funny to see "OU" so prominent in a random way.

Arkansas is not very good. OU should be able to win that game as long as Grooms plays well.

Cinci looks like they've got their top four guys back but lost a lot of depth. They only go eight deep right now, and their three bench guys play very little. In their two losses they had 1-2 players shoot pretty poorly and got nothing from the bench. I'd expect them to be a really tough team on the right (or wrong) night, but very beatable on others. Doesn't look like they have enough talent or a system to overcome an off night.

That's funny, you and I were probably the only two households in the state of Oklahoma that were watching that boxing telecast.

The only reason I have HBO is the boxing. Broner & Canelo on the same night =winning!

I dont know why but I really like Alvarez.

Broner is a stud.

Here's a question for you boxing fans: how long before someone of note finally steps to the plate to take on Sergio Martinez? You'd think the powers that be want a little more cash out of Canelo before he's sacrificed.

Broner has looked great in his last two outings, but he hasn't exactly faced the best opposition in those two. In his previous fight against Ponce de Leon he looked very pedestrian and easily could have lost. He's definitely someone to look out for in the future though.

Unfortunately for S Martinez he kind of falls into that "boxing purgatory" area. That's when you are an absolute killer in the ring yet you haven't yet developed the fan following necessary to guarantee an opponent a huge pay day. Not a lot of fighters beating down the door to face somebody like that. I do think that if Mayweather were to give him a chance that could be a blockbuster PPV. With Martinez's looks (and if he would learn English) and skills he could be very marketable.
