When the TV announcers laugh at how poorly your Team was coached i don't think ten more years would help you Jeff.
When the recruits stop coming, I don't think ten more years would help.

A winning record? OU was favored to win the conference, and they finished 15-12. They lost a terrific player in John McCullough, but were still loaded with guys like Terry Stotts, Al Beal, Aaron Curry and Raymond Whitley. If it wasn't for the 2010 team, the 1980 team would be the hands down winner of the most underachieving OU team in the past 35 years. Bottom line. Bliss checked out early and didn't leave Billy Tubbs with much talent.
Like I said, they don't deserve to be in the same conversation as far as OU basketball is concerned. Comparing Bliss to Capel, or even mentioning Bliss in the same breath as Capel is more asinine than the comparisons of Capel to Blake.
I think Bliss, Capel and MacLeod all deserve to be in the same category despite the fact that Jeff won three more NCAA Tournament games than the other two combined. Bliss pretty much left the program where he found it, and yes, Jeff left it worse off. That comparison goes to Bliss. The NCAA tournament wins go to Jeff...I'm sure the comparisons can go back and fourth all day.
Also, while Bliss didn't coach a player like Blake Griffin, I wish some of you would stop acting as if he inherited the guy. Getting him was all Jeff, and I know that just kills some of you. Finally, what FACT is present which would indicate that comparing Jeff Capel to Dave Bliss is more asinine than comparing Jeff Capel to John Blake? John Blake never had a winning season...only Jeff's last two years can compare to that. John Blake can only be compared to an OU coach (in any sport) who never had a winning season. PERIOD.
I'm still taking Jeff over Dave Bliss, but in my case, I can back it up with some FACTS to at least have a credible debate. Taking John Blake over Jeff Capel can't be backed up with any facts since he never had a winning record.

Getting him wasn't 'all Jeff'. Had Taylor been somewhere other than OU, Blake would have followed, no matter how much he liked Jeff.
WOW can this dam-n thing just not end? I hope that some of us never make mistakes in life. Go ahead and Flame Away or whatever it is that makes you feel good. Hate on'
I hope this doesn't turn into another bash Capel thread, I thought his comments were fair and what I would expect from anyone in that circumstance.
I've never heard this. This would be something that would really bother me.
I suspect this is NOT something that was a Kelvin problem. I'd bet Kelvin was there rather early.
It's not an "old school" thing, it's a "syncing your world with others" thing. When most of the world is there at the regular times then it's almost haughty to stroll in past 10 a.m. .
Jeff had more tourney wins because he had the best player in basketball. It had nothing to do with his coaching. If Bliss or MacLeod had a player the caliber of BG and if they inherited a roster anywhere close to what Capel inherited, then they have as many or more tourney wins than Capel.
If Capel inherited the roster either Bliss or MacLeod inherited he has 3 or 4 straight losing seasons and is fired.
Based on this, it's not fair to Bliss or MacLeod for them to be lumped into the same category as Capel. Those are the facts.
It depends how late you are there. Nobody said he wasn't doing things from home. In todays mobile work many people I know get an awful lot of work done at home before going to the office at 9:00.

I would love to make millions for being a total failure.. but im not a coach or a politician.
I think Jeff will become a better coach with the experience he's gotten at VCU and OU and will get at Duke.
