At least if I'm the AD he would be. It is absolutely pathetic to perform like that. We were playing one of the worst freaking teams in the conference, for christ's sake. I don't care where the game is, you can't perform like that. Pitiful.

If we don't win on Saturday, I'm calling for Capel's head. Period.

I am right there with you...I am not sure that if we win Saturday would change my mind.

Hard to defend coach C with that effort, or lack of......

It will be interesting to see how the team responds on saturday. os-who is playing hard right now.....

Fortunately I will be helping my best friend and his wife move Saturday. I rather drop a piece of furniture on my foot then watch this garbage.

As you all know I've kind of been on the fence when it comes to Capel this year. After the 4 game winning streak I was very encouraged and was basically back in his camp. I just can't stomach another total collapse, however. Would this be two seasons in a row with a 9 game losing streak to end the year? I don't have the words for how pathetic that is. It is just unacceptable, any way you slice it.

3 of his 5 seasons with a major collapse down the stretch.

Obviously, I think the plan was for Capel to be back next year. But if they lose Saturday and then again in the first round of the Big 12, the pressure will be incredibly heavy on Joe and may lead to that final nail to hammer into the coffin. Hell, the pressure to get rid of him may be too heavy now as it is.

If they win Saturday, then Capel/Joe C. will be able to boast that he won one more game this year than last year with considerably less talent. I'm not saying that should save his job, because honestly at this point I won't lose any sleep if it happened, I'm just saying that's probably how they'll spin it to give him another year.

Just a guess on my part though and I'm probably wrong. :)

One game doesn't mean anything. You judge the man's success by the body of work he has done in the last 5 years.

What are the expectations at OU?
Did he meet those?
Are the fans and donors happy with the program now?
Are we headed in the right direction?
Are we under investigation for breaking NCAA rules?
Are we graduating the student athletes?
Are the players breaking any laws?
Is the coach working as hard as he can to achieve the goals of the AD?

Joe C will have to decide if Jeff is achieving the goals The University of Oklahoma has for its coaches in every sport. No ONE game is a back breaker.

How is next year any different???

Replace Cade Davis with Osby, then what??

Is that going to make that big of a difference??

Is lack of talent this teams only problem??

No, he was coaching for his job today.

They got it down to 19 points one time for about 3 seconds, before giving up an uncontested layup to Singletary. They got run out of the gym by a 12-17 basketball team. At one point they were up by 28 points, and it hovered between 24-28 down the stretch.

Unacceptable... 8 games in a row, 9 games in a row, doesnt matter. Capel should be out tonight.

I could see it being slightly better, but certainly not NCAA Tournament better. It will be an NIT bubble team at best.

A lot of the key returning players have some major holes in their game that I just can't see being developed or improved, in my unprofessional opinion. :)

Hope I'm wrong.

Around six weeks ago I said that OU would beat Ok. State at OU.... OU at the time was playing just as good if not better than Ok. State.

But its crazy to think how much can change in 6 weeks. I don't see OU winning Saturday; I don't even know how much OU will even get up for this game. I know there's a difference between playing at Tech and playing your rival at home, but there's something alarming about losing by over 20 to one of the worst teams in the conference. Unfortunately, I can't help but think OU has mailed in their season already.

What are the expectations at OU? Consistent tournament team with the occasional deep runs into the tournament.
Did he meet those? Nope
Are the fans and donors happy with the program now? Hell no!!!!!!
Are we headed in the right direction? Hell no!!!!
Are we under investigation for breaking NCAA rules? You bet your a**!!!
Are we graduating the student athletes? Nope
Are the players breaking any laws? Yup!!!!
Is the coach working as hard as he can to achieve the goals of the AD? Nope!!!!

Fact is that he has proven that he can't coach. Yes, he won with Blake Griffin but after seeing Blake play in the NBA, I am not sure that he should have lost a game with Blake Griffin.

Bottom line is that we are in worst days of OU basketball. Ironically, tonight, we had higher rated players than Texas Tech talent wise and got whipped. Clark was a national top 30 player. Davis, Fitzgerald, and Pledger were national Top 150 players. None of those guys has developed.
On top of this, our academic progress rate has to be the lowest in the Big 12. How many players have started OU and left, not counting Blake, Warren, Mason-Griffin and Gallon? We lost two this year before they ever played, yet, they will count against us on the APR.

OU needs a change!!!!!
