Not with Jeff Capel or anybody else on this staff at the helm.

The guy who was on Sampson's staff who previously coached at OBU would coach circles around Capel.

I'm not advocating him to take Capel's place, just merely stating he's a much better coach, IMO.

First, it's Osby.

Osby will be a significant upgrade for us...but for anyone who thinks he is going to step in and drop 15 and 10 a night, it's not going to happen. People here are saying he is going to play the three, which is completely incorrect. May have short spurts, but he will play the 4 in a four-out, one-in offense.

Two...have you seen Goff play? What do you expect?

The antiCapels really should lighten up and give the pro-Capel guys a chance to express their thoughts without fear of getting flamed. After all, isn't this board all about honest discussion and sharing opinions on OU basketball?

Totally agree. How dare us support/defend a coach who is obviously a truly good person, has a great family, loves OU, and has done well as a coach (despite what most on this board claim)?


Yes, he needs to do a better job here at OU. Yes, if he doesn't make either of the next two NCAA tournaments, he should not retain his job.


However, until that time, I will support him, the players and this program as much as I possibly can.

Perhaps the "pro-Capel guys" should stop flaming me for being "anti-Capel" then. I'm not the one that resorted to name calling and insults.

By the way, I am not "anti-Capel". I don't have anything personal against Jeff Capel. I just feel his current level of performance is unacceptable and needs to drastically improve.

That's pretty much how I feel. I think OU and OSU are similar in talent right now if you look at both programs. One is playing over it's head in basketball and one is performing way below it's talent and using it's talent as an excuse.

Similar in talent? I wish. The aggies have more depth inside + Moses is better than anyone we have. Outside they are better too.

If we are similar, its makes Capel look even worse.

We lead GW by 4 in the 2nd half. Pathetic.

I think we have better guards than them. They have more depth inside. And they are playing better and are much better coached overall. But I don't think they have any more talent than we have. Ford keeps getting everything he can out of his teams.

Exactly I think his coaching is what's hurting us more than the players. OSU basically has no guard play at all. Cade Davis and Stephen Pledger are miles above anything they really have there. Now their post play is better than we have especially the way Moses has played. But Fitz is pretty good also.
