Chad Ford's new mock

So Tiny you think college players should be able to get loans from people they don't know in order to get into college? Who knows if OT did it or not, regardless what Tiny did can't happen.

Actually, I am a firm believer in waiting 'til the facts come out before jumping to conclusions.

If you asked me my opinion on the KU investigation, I would give the same response.
I would not simply say that KU is going down in a blaze of cheating glory cuz I do not like them.

So should we have demanded Sampson not be able to coach for four years?

This is a really bizarre statement/comparison you're making. That has absolutely nothing to do with what I said. And if you knew my posting history on this board you'd know you're barking up the wrong tree.

Well, I'm not saying I agree with the specific "revenge fantasy" that is being advocated here, but there is something to be said for the fact that coaches can break rules while they're at a college and then leap to another program with no repercussions whatsoever while they leave their former school in a wake of destruction.

Perhaps Tiny should be placed on probation from playing pro ball for as long as we end up on probation for the illegal dough he accepted. (And yes, I know OT should come in for much of the blame, too, but I suspect his career nosedive will be all the punishment he deserves.) When we're free and clear, then he can play for (legal) pay.

Tiny is a sooner for life, man, he loves OU. He worked his tail off @ OU, and was one of our best players. He was ashamed of the record OU had this season, and had already been putting in the extra time to get OU back to the final 4.

Remember, he would have stayed in school if he didn't stand a decent shot at losing his amateur status. That is the stiffest punishment the ncaa can hand down on a student-athlete, what more do you want?

Oh and he may have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars potentially by his hand being forced to enter the draft this season. Late 1st/early 2nd is peanuts compared to the lotto picks. He would have had a good shot at a lotto pick next season, too.

The universities use the student-athletes to make mad dough! Don't feel bad for them even if it is your alma mater.

Tiny has admitted to taking $3,000 from a financial advisor in order to pay for his transcript to be released. I don't know how that's jumping to conclusions. I don't hold any ill will towards him. Heck, I may have done the same thing. It's the NCAA's rules though. And it's a good rule.

KU had a bunch of former employees take part in a huge ticket scalping scandal. I don't know need to wait for anymore facts to come out to say that.
If I deny it that's not going to make it go away.

Honest question here..Is Tiny's mom ineligible for loans since he had signed a LOI?

If that's the case then that is a ludicrous ncaa rule, and OU is prolly in some doo doo cuz we are on probation.

The articles I have read have stated that the money was wired to an account "held by Gallon and his mother." If it were just his mother's account I think it may be a grey area. If Tiny's name is on the account then that's bad news.

So Tiny you think college players should be able to get loans from people they don't know in order to get into college? Who knows if OT did it or not, regardless what Tiny did can't happen. 25Mob said he did nothing illegal. I'm pretty sure the NCAA will say something different. It just can't happen in college athletics. The sad thing is it happens everyday. This isn't an OU problem. This is an NCAA problem. I'd rather they just pay all players something. Lord knows the schools make enough money off these kids.

Cheno,

1) i didn't say he did nothing illegal, i asked if he had done something illegal and had any evidence been brought to the light that he did.

2) just because he's a student athlete doesn't mean he and his mother can't get a loan to pay for transcripts from a stranger as you put it. just about every loan I've received from a financial institution has been from a stranger.

3) the loan was paid off. this was not a gift given to him by a stranger.

4) where is the evidence that any member of the program set up the loan? you are speculating that's what happened.

5) where are your facts?

Come on... Are we actually supposed to feel bad for him?

Again, too bad. Must be tough to lose 100K b/c he was "forced" to go to the NBA. Boy, it must be tough to be so genetically gifted that they "make" you play a game then pay you well for it. :facepalm

Ill restate the fact that I do think Tiny was put in a bad spot and that he did what he had to do with the system put in place. But, if you think I'm going to feel bad for him you are out of your mind. He left behind a big mess and that is not going to sit well with a lot of Sooner fans. With that being said I hope that nothing comes of this and that we find out everything was a big huge misunderstanding. But, we both know that more than likely that is not going to happen.

not asking you to feel sry for him, only want peeps to realize that he lost just as much or more than anyone else involved.

to wish I'll will on him is despicable.

If it comes out that OU gets hurt by this then my answer to your statement is I don't care what he lost. This program could lose more than Tiny ever will. I'm not wishing ill will on him either, just not pulling for him.
