Clarke headed to Butler

Good luck to him. I bet he will fit in well there and have a better shot at being a pg.

I don't feel bad about this at all. Sure, he would have helped a lot if he got his head on straight. But if he didn't...he could have been a big problem. And I think we're a tourney team in 2012-13 regardless.

Nuthing about Clarke personally but I just don't think you want to invest in a one year guy. Too many quality guards out there that you can build a program with.

Agreed.

Unfortunately thanks to Capel Butler is a better program now then ours. The good news is that I think Coach Kruger will change that.

umm, Butler has been a better program the last couple years than most teams.

This, I hope he does well and would have welcomed him on board though. Had we one more scholly to burn I would have been disappointed but we are thin (and may get thinner) in that dept. so four year guys are really important to us now.

And in 2013, we could have recruited ALL the guards in the world. Clarke would have not "stunted" the growth of the program. Just like he won't kill the growth by not being at OU.

I'll never understand the hatred of Clarke on this board. Kid would probably put up one of the 5 best 3 point seasons in OU history if he came here. I'd have enjoyed watching that.

This is a really dumb post in so many ways.

"Nuthing about Clarke personally but I just don't think you want to invest in a one year guy. Too many quality guards out there that you can build a program with" doesn't strike me as "hatred" of Rotnei Clarke.

Who knows, Clarke may not see as much playing time as he thinks he will at Butler. There was a kid last year coming off the bench that could really knock down the 3s.

That he didn't wind up at Oklahoma is a testament to the impact of looming NCAA sanctions against the Sooners and a blow to new coach Lon Kruger's rebuilding process.
"I really believe Coach Kruger will turn the program around quickly," Clarke told CBSSports.com. "And while I was told that the NCAA decision wouldn't affect me, it wasn't guaranteed. I didn't know that for sure - and didn't want to go there without knowing 100 percent."

Thank you NCAA and OT for dragging this out and costing OU another recruit
