This looks like fun. A college basketball 3-on-3 tournament at the Final Four, with one team from each conference, using only departing seniors. That way they can give a $50,000 cash prize to the winners.

Schedule:

The Big East's team has two Xavier starters and is probably the favorites. But the Big 12 looks pretty solid too:

  • Manu Lecomte, Baylor
  • Donovan Jackson, Iowa State
  • Kendall Smith, Oklahoma State
  • Zach Smith, Texas Tech

Frank Booker is playing for the SEC, but he's probably the best player on the team.

Juwan Parker from Georgia. I remember when OU fans were upset he got away. Doesn't look like he was a big loss.

I think that Big 12 team looks bad, but then I looked around the other teams. Not many big names. Don't sleep on that Atlantic 10 team.

It was ok! Very fast paced. Didn't love some of the rules they had or how they did free throws at all. Played by 1s and 2s so basically guys were just jacking up 3s the whole time. No checking up unless the ball went out or fouls.(even on makes..just clear it at the 3pt line and play) Teams won $1k total for each game they advanced and 50k total for the champions. Nice little pay day for those guys.

Overall it was a little cheesy I thought, but love the idea and the opportunity for some of these guys.

The Big 12 bounced early with an 0-3 record and the Big 10 won the tournament.

It was basically rec ball with better players. Rebound, run out to the line, quick three before anyone can contest. Not too many teams played offensive sets - which isn't that surprising given they'd mostly never played together before.

Well, actually, there was one major difference from rec ball:
