Crowd at OSU game tonight ????

WOW, I know it is early season but this is the group of fans that used to wear us out for not having bigger crowds. They used to claim they were a basketball school but obviously not. Even if Ford makes the tourney this year he might be on the chopping blocks if he can't get more than the 3,000 or so butts in seats. There was NO ONE in the upper deck and the lower area was maybe half full. I wonder if their administration looks back and wonders why they expanded to 13,300 (Sutton wanted it bigger than OU's from what I understand). They should have left it at 6,000 and loud like it was IMO - keep it at a premium. That's why I think OU should not expand our FB stadium from the 85,000 as we could sell alot more seats but you would have some games that would have a chunk of no butts IMO.

Anyhow, I think OU's team, like Mark Rodgers said today, might be better than OSU's this year - may even make the tourney if the breaks go our way.

I remember the day when Megapoke and his band of pumkin clad henchmen used to make fun of our "gimmicks". Today they let the students in free and had doubleheader tickets for $10.

Basketball takes a hit when you are a football school. That, and I think Ford has alienated himself from much of the fanbase with his poor recruiting (mainly recruiting poor character).

Throw in the thunder and you've got thousands of empty prison orange seats.

I think Lon is endearing himself to our fans and will maximize our bball attendance once he starts winning. The Thunder hurt us as well but I think Lon can make his niche with Students, families and old folks in the Norman area.

Both OU and OSU took Sutton and Sampson/Tubbs for granted. Yes we still had crowd issues early in the year, and I'm sure OSU did also. But both programs for the 90s(80s for us) were always top 25 caliber and tough to play in the LNC/GIA.

OSU is pretty loaded this year and I recall Kansas Coach Self even vocalized the potential OSU holds however I have faith in the Sooner family and I think time will tell how special Coach Kruger is IMHO..

We may be loaded but not right now. Were without Cobbins and JP and jurrick are extremely limited right now.
