Did Denmark send hospital patients to assisted care facilities as Cuomo did and sign their death warrant. And you want to blame pubs. Makes perfect sense.

So its Cuomo's fault???? Ok.

I guess he's responsible for the deaths in Florida, Texas, Arizona, etc.????

That's why the "whack a mole" response from trump will never work. Each state making their own decisions when people are free to move from state to state makes no sense. There needed and still needs someone to take control. If trump doesn't want to, let Fauci or someone with experience in the epidemiology field take over. Make people social distance, wear masks, etc.

Or just let it go, do nothing like trump wanted to do in the first place.

How is it not Cuomo's fault for the example presented? How? You think he's the only democratic governor who bears blame? No others? Do you just not get that we are in this together? Do you fail to see that? You and your kind do not make things better with your antagonistic behavior. Selfishness has no value. The only reason why the media and politicians representing the democratic party were underestimating the problem at the beginning was to make fun of the administration and no other reason (lets call a smelly spade a smelly spade here) When the "underestimators" found out how wrong they were boy did they pivot like two faced people. Does this sound like people who were truly concerned about the welfare of people or more concerned about politics? The answer is obvious and apparent for it was just another opportunity to play people as puppets on a string. The character exuded was severely lacking and devoid of compassion to all.

All you have to do is make courses accessible online. If you have any one of a million reasons for not wanting to go to school, stay home. The rest can attend in person.

Well, now what?

In a perfect world the president wouldn't be insane, but here we are.

Make people social distance, wear masks, etc.

It's nearly impossible to MAKE people do this on any kind of grand scale. It cannot be enforced, or policed. The Oklahoma Governor just said that very thing yesterday when asked about making masks mandatory.

The US's biggest problems, death-wise, are still happening in only a couple of areas. Pull that out of the data, and 90% of the country (geographically speaking) is in line with most of these other countries.

And LOL at anybody trying to compare hard count deaths between the US and individual countries with 5% of our population.

What are you talking about? We have 5% of the world's population, but we've had 24% of the world's deaths and counting. Other countries have done the hard things to flatten the curve and reduce the incidence of virus in the community. We did it for about 2 months and then we gave up.

And I love your reasoning, "subtract all the parts of the country where the cases and deaths are exploding and we are doing about as well as other countries." LOL

Why is that a clown statement????? Almost every other country in the world has done better than us. Are you proud? Or embarrassed? With the best scientists and best resources, the United States has the worst outcome. And I don't care who you blame or why. He is the president and he should have managed a better result.

I don't want anything that isn't backed up by the scientific experts.

Trump says to ignore them.....Everyone in his administration says to ignore the experts. I was listening when Larry Kudlow said they had it in control and that they knew what they were doing. Nobody should believe anything that comes from the White House. How ironic that we lead the world in deaths and cases......

They need someone to be the manager of this epidemic.....someone who can make sound decisions based on science. And implement them. Governors saying that individual mayors can't make decisions regarding their own citizens....????wtf? Governors can make the decisions that trump won't....because he knows there isn't a simple answer and he doesn't want to take responsibility for the failure. He wants to walk away and say it's the individual governor's or Obama's fault.

Trump had every opportunity to take control of this back in January. There's an old saying....you reap what you sow. If he had done anything right, we wouldn't be in this shape now.

The older people that have any sense have been avoiding crowds for the last 5 months. My mom hardly leaves her house. I go out when I have to. There is an epidemic going on right now....it's not getting better or disappearing just because trump wants it to go away.

your scientific experts were saying it wasn't an issue for the US in January. So do you want him to listen to them or not? Do you want Trump to see into the future and go against what the medical experts are saying?Because even in March, The godly Fauci was saying the US shouldn't be worried.

The only thing I fault Trump for is not taking a hardline stance on masks. The whole goal was the flatten the curve and we did that without question in this country. THe issue now is how states have opened back up. I agree with Trump that that is mostly a state's decision. Most of these countries that you want to glorify are about the size of the average US state. The US has some state's that have done excellent and some that have done terrible.

So we have more people......what does that change?? We should have more people at work to protect our citizens. More people at the airport...more people at the ports of call. Someone to make the decisions. Anyone can sit on his hands and say it's not his fault.

When China shut down the Wuhan Province, that should have been a clue to everyone. There are millions of people here....surely someone thought at the time that it would be a good idea to prevent entry for anyone who had been in China in the last two months. I know I thought that at the time....I'm sure others did too. Others that cared about the citizens of the United States.

I mean really.....we have the best intelligence in the world (or did have 4 years ago). Trump had plenty of warning; he just chose to ignore it.

DO you want us to weld people into their homes like China?

Trump literally got crap for closing travel from China. He did what you said he should have done lol

That is such a phony talking point.... He's trying to cling on to something he did, and didn't even do well. Still let like 50,000 people come in from China after the "ban", and his European ban was half-assed as well.

But the phony part is the claim that he got criticized for it, and therefore that means he is right about everything. It's a logical fallacy. Someone is always going to criticize you for the action you took... Even in real democracies, votes that are PAINFULLY obvious on what the right outcome is, don't win 100% of the vote... A gigantic win is pleasing 70% of voters, but that means you are going to get criticized by 30%... It's just part of it, get over it.

"See look, I didn't do NOTHING in the early stages, I put on a travel ban, and people said I shouldn't, but I did because I am really smart".. It's just an excuse. He is trying to fill the air with something he did, but in reality it wasn't nearly enough and it was half-assed. It's just hot air that he keeps going back to, because it's the only thing he can claim he did.

Think about it in a different context to see it's absurdity. Your dog gets run over by a car because you left the back gate open, and you have to explain yourself to your wife. She finds out you left the back door open, didn't check on the dog, didn't secure the gate, didn't go looking for him because you were playing Xbox, etc. In essence, you did everything wrong... and I just keep turning around and saying "Look honey, I had the front door completely closed. Normally he gets out the front door, but I had that totally secured"...

"But why didn't you go check on him?"

"But why didn't you close the back door?"

"But why was the gate open in the backyard?"

My rebuttal?.... Again, the repeat. "Hey, that front door was so secure.... its never been so secure. Deadbolt was locked, the handle was locked, the peephole was covered up... That front door has NEVER been more closed"

You can see how absurd this is.... and its exactly what he is doing. People are asking him questions about what else he did, and he just keeps going back to the China ban. The only thing the husband did in the story above was have the front closed, so that's what he keeps going back to.

It wouldn't work with your wife, but Trump's words are working on you.

And your analogy would only be 100% accurate if the front door was cracked open a bit the whole time and he lied to his wife about it.

Maybe. But that isn't the point. The point was that liberals crushed him for doing it. LOL that you say it is phony to say he got criticized for it. That's nuts man. I remember the evening news reports and reading the articles.

i wasn't referencing anything trump has said or taken credit for. I'm showing that people try to say he did nothing when he should have and then those same people criticized him when he did do something early.

no offense, but I didn't read the rest

So are you guys denying that he got **** for restricting travel? Really?
And then now complaining that he didn't restrict it enough?
Have some respect for yourselves

They play both sides of the fence for that's what manipulative rats do and they do it quite well. They could care less about respect for power grabbing is all they are interested in and selling their souls is just a means to an end.

What are you talking about? ABD clearly stated that he DID get blasted for it. I personally blasted it as a joke. If you're going to do a travel ban, then you have to do a complete travel ban. The European ban was also a joke, too many countries were not included, like the UK, and it didn't go into effect until days after the announcement, causing a flood of travelers to come pouring in before the ban.

He shut the barn door, halfway, after the cows were out.

Now I'm a soulless manipulative rat. LOL. At least I have a functioning brain.

I guess I need to hear from tooney then as he is the one that made the comment that Trump could have done something in January.

Bounce,

I encourage you to go back and read my analogy. If for no other reason than it's entertaining, especially if you're married. :)

meh.

Tooney and liberals say Trump didn't do anything. I point out that he did. It is really as simple as that. And not only did he do something, he did it early and got a lot of crap from liberals about doing it. The same liberals that say he did nothing.

He left shutdowns up to the states. I don't see anything wrong with that. The US was very successful on flattening the curve (does nobody want to remember how much this was preached ad naseum? They want to forget the objective because it was met beatifully and can't be criticized). Trump and the US accomplished what the original mission was and he gets no credit for it.

The reopening phase has been rough and hit or miss with states, that can't be denied. But again, what I will find interesting is the total deaths when the virus is contained. What is the disparity in the total deaths for states that say short high spikes verse states that saw low constant cases over a longer period. A life is a life so I think it is too soon to pass judgement on the US' response.

1. We flattened the curve temporarily, but then Trump gave up. He constantly put pressure on states to "reopen" prematurely, and the ones that have are paying the price.

2. The 50 state "strategy" has been a total failure. What an extraordinary blunder. You need a unified national response, like other countries did and are doing, or you end up with states competing against each other for resources and hotspots popping up all over and then travelers traveling in and out of those places seeding other hotspots. It's been an absolute disaster, criminal really.

TEmporarily is what we were going for!!! That was the whole point. I wish you guys could time travel and see how ridiculous you are being. The point was to flatten the curve UNTIL hospitals were prepared. That happened. 100% without a doubt. Things opened back up when they needed to. There isn't a playbook on this. Waiting to open up another month would not have changed what we are seeing now, it would have only delayed it. And unless you want to wait for a vaccine to open up, you don't have a point. That is why I said the only complaint I have is that the use of masks were not stressed enough or taken seriously. And Trump and the gov is at blame for that but so is the individual person.

It is a lot easier said than done to control 50 states and a country the size of ours.
