TEmporarily is what we were going for!!! That was the whole point. I wish you guys could time travel and see how ridiculous you are being. The point was to flatten the curve UNTIL hospitals were prepared. That happened. 100% without a doubt. Things opened back up when they needed to. There isn't a playbook on this. Waiting to open up another month would not have changed what we are seeing now, it would have only delayed it. And unless you want to wait for a vaccine to open up, you don't have a point. That is why I said the only complaint I have is that the use of masks were not stressed enough or taken seriously. And Trump and the gov is at blame for that but so is the individual person.

It is a lot easier said than done to control 50 states and a country the size of ours.

Agreed!

And a lot of those countries don't have the same economic and economy-related factors that we do. The country was crawling towards the end of the length of time we could be shut down before irreversible harm was done. Not just to the economy. Not just to businesses. But to massive amounts of people.

I am going to go ahead and agree with you here.... I don't like that our reality is that commerce is the only thing we have going for us, but it is the reality whether I like it or not. 45 days of disrupted commerce nearly led to a failed economy. That is horrific and maddening to me on multiple levels, but that is what we have built. You need to get your ass to Lowes, Chilis, Kohls, Target, etc on the reg or we are in deep ****.

Nobody said it was easy, but to make it work it would have had to be done on a national level. Letting every state fend for itself was, and continues to be, a disaster.

This right here.....I don't understand folks who don't (or won't) understand this. We were going to get hit hard by this thing in certain locales no matter how long we could reasonably delay the re-opening. There are simply too many chronically sick people in these large urban areas who were too prone to an infection that preys on their specific com-morbidities.

Fortunately, treatment has improved over the course of this outbreak, but ultimately, it was going to be a situation that we were going to have to accept dealing with.....eventually.

As expected, Desean Jackson gets out of this unscathed.

Malcolm Jenkins essentially said that we should stop talking about Jackson's anti-semitic comments because it's a "distraction" from what really matters...black people. Wow.

"If you're not anti-racist, you're racist."

When a Synagogue was the site of a mass murder liberals went crazy because they were convinced Trump was somehow a catalyst. But when liberals attack them either from antisemetic remarks or attacks on Hasidics in NYC they collectively say meh! What ever moves the narrative along is what is deemed important otherwise it's a "who cares" mentality. Beautiful people.

I wouldn’t say disaster but I know you love to paint with a broad brush. If Obama was president, the response wouldn’t be that much different, except he’d likely wait longer on travel ban and shutdown. The government is notorious for bureaucratic, slow, truncated responses during times like these. You think it’s all 1 mans fault, it isn’t. You always blame trump, yet the other 500+ politicians in Washington are exempt. Why?

For some hate triumphs over all else.

why?

Because it is complete ignorance to not have a blanket policy when all of these little communities of cities and states constantly intermix their populations.

There's a reason that the very first step in contaminant-release response for every damn organization all over the world is STOP THE SOURCE. Instead of observing that we get people who know jack squat about emergency response protocols arguing little bull**** things like the death percentages etc... when we have yet to even accomplish the first step to ensuring a clean area.

The entire MO of why we start off with "Stop the source" is precisely because of what eventually happened ... the chance of asymptomatic spread. While you pinheads have been sitting here *****ing about socialism bull**** and "oh my freedoms" we havent secured a damn thing and the numbers reflect as such.

The only positives we have made are due to figuring out how to better treat it as it keeps spreading uncontrolled among our populace.

Trump commuted the sentence of Roger Stone... who was prosecuted fairly. Even AG Barr said it was a legit prosecution. Trump using his power to get his buddies off. Strong sign of corruption.

Is it anything like trying to frame an American General? Or illegal spying on the incoming president during the transition of power? Anything like that? Those are actual crimes committed by Obama and Biden.

Only 1740 more to match Obama!

Btw, Obama had 1750

So yes, let’s make a big deal about trumps tenth!
I’m sure Obama never commutes a friend

Holy ****. You guys really are commies.

<eyeroll> now I’m a “commie” because I don’t want millions of potential disease carriers to congregate inside for 7 hours a day/5 days a week during a pandemic without an acceptable plan in place and the resources to make it safe for that to happen.

Also, nobody has called someone a “commie” in about 40 years lol.

Yeah he commuted the sentences of non-violent drug offenders unfairly caught in the system. That’s *exactly* the same.

Let me know if you find an instance where he commuted the sentence of someone accused of helping him commit crimes.

Predictable

...because you said government should enforce things with no regard for citizen preference. I want nothing to do with your totalitarian beliefs.

It's painful that you ended this sentence with an acronym predominantly used by teenage girls in the late 90s. You must have been bummed when AIM was discontinued.
