Republicans have just perfected what democrats started but but but Bush for 8 whole years.

I'm pretty sure nobody you are trying to make a point to has subscribed to wapo

And now you're doing it. "But but but democrats started it!" It's silly and not a defense or an argument.

nobody said it was a defense of an argument. It is used to show the hypocrisy of the left.

They rail on Trump for doing/not doing when they were silent when previous democratic POTUS did or didn't do what they rail on Trump for.

It doesn't give Trump a pass. But what it shows is that it really isn't an issue for those railing on Trump. It is a faux anger. If it was true righteous anger, the left would have demanded action earlier

You keep saying that "It is used to show the hypocrisy of the left." Why would that matter when it comes to the topic at hand? This is a discussion about Trump not doing anything about Russian bounties on US troops. Try to stay on topic. It's definitely an issue for me, I would prefer that Russia not be paying the Taliban to kill our troops.

What you're doing is a logical fallacy, and not a good one.

By the way, there's no evidence that President Obama ignored bounties put on US troops, this started in 2018.

I've already said it isn't a justification or defense of Trump. I agree something should be done about it.

BUT again, it shows your bias on things like this and similar events when you weren't worried about it prior to 2016. It isn't a fallacy to point this out. It is an extra datapoint. It is expanding the information available and adding context.

And if Biden is elected, there is no doubt that republicans will do the same thing.

I wasn't worried about it because it didn't happen before 2018. I guarantee you I would have been "worried about it" had this happened on Obama's watch. But again, you keep derailing the discussion and veering off into, "you weren't worried about [topic X] before! That's hypocritical!" As if that's some kind of major point someone was arguing.

Somebody else said bounties on US troops isn't new. By Russia it is, as far as we know.

But again, missing the point...it isn't specifically about this topic that the hypocrisy is seen. It is prevalent on both sides. We have to find a way to look at things objectively

The COVID discussion is a great example. We hear a lot about how Trump should have had the country ready for a pandemic.

Well did Obama have the country ready for a pandemic? He saw the swine flu at the beginning of his presidency. It killed ~half a million people worldwide (about where we are at covid right now). Shouldn't he have started putting things in place to be ready for the next pandemic?

He did. The Trump administration said they didn’t, then admitted they were wrong.

So in a couple years, trump just decided to scrap what obama built up for pandemic readiness? Excuse me for being skeptical

On top of that, in the months leading up to the pandemic the Trump administration slashed the staff of the CDC pandemic response team inside China from 47 people to 14 people. Many of those people were epidemiologists and other workers in the health care field.

Vegas is taking bets on the Redskins name change.... the two leading contenders are the Washington Red Wolves, and the Washington Red Tails. The latter being an honor of the Tuskegee Airmen.

Some guy trademarked dozens of potential names, so they might have to pay him. I think that's why it's taking so long to make a formal decision.
